Stronger & Bolder JHCSC for Quality Tertiary Education

Under the leadership of Mr. Wilfredo Barnido, Jr., Vice President for Administration and Finance, the offices under the Administration and Finance (VPAF) held a meeting at the JHCSC Dumingag Campus Quality Assurance Office on January 6, 2025. With the support of President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, the gathering brought together key officials, including Dr. Jerry B. Superales, Vice President for Research, Extension, and Resource Generation (VPRERG), Dr. Joel M. Sabellano, Finance Director and Dr. Moises Glenn Tangalin, Dumingag Campus Director. The meeting served as a platform for consultation, with an open forum led by Mr. Barnido, where attendees discussed key challenges and opportunities for improvement.

The first flag-raising ceremony of the year held today, January 6, 2025, at the J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) system, highlighted the implementation of the revised dress code policy, with all employees wearing ASEAN-inspired attire. Under the leadership of Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, this initiative aligns with the Civil Service Commission (CSC) Memorandum Circular No. 16, s. 2024, emphasizing professionalism and cultural identity.

The School of Business and Management (SBM) of J.H.Cerilles State College (JHCSC) officially launched and implemented its community extension service entitled “Skills Training to the Non-working and Indigent Citizens of Barangay White Beach” on December 20-21, 2024. This initiative is part of the Adopt-a-District Extension Program (ADEP) under the TABANGE Framework, a project spearheaded by Extension Director Prof. Ricky A. Egos and guided by the leadership of President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales. The training event was held at the JHCSC SBM Kitchen Laboratory and led by Project Leaders Ms. Maricar P. Rellon and Ms. Myrna V. Ceño, with the support of Dr. Julito V. Mandac, Jr., Dean of SBM.

JH Cerilles State College (JHCSC), the host SUC during the MASTS Friendship Games 2024, made its mark, earning 10th place in socio-cultural events and 13th place in sports. The prestigious event held in the Province of Zamboanga del Sur gathered 31 State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) from across Mindanao, celebrating unity through spirited sports competitions and cultural showcases.

The Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) of J.H. Cerilles State College held their much-awaited IT Day and Year-End Party on December 14, 2024, at the Pagadian Extension Campus Lobby. The event, themed Spark IT: Red Hot Innovations – Igniting Passions and Creativity, was organized by the Philippine Society of Information Technology Students (PSITS) President, Mr. EL Noe Armada, with the guidance of their club adviser, Mr. Efraim A. Barcela, under the leadership of IT Program Chair, Elsie Ybañez, MSIT.

The Student Peer Facilitator (SPF) Organization of JHCSC Main Campus, led by President James F. Gudmalin with the support of Ms. Jonah T. Salaguste, RPm, RGC, Main Campus Guidance Counselor, hosted its SPF Acceptance, Team Building, and Year-End Party 2024 on December 17, 2024 at Khian’s Spring Garden Resort.

The Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management (BSTM) Program of J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) held a Fine Dining Experience and Modeling event at the JHCSC Hostel under the theme “Confidence is the Best Outfit; Wear it like You Own It,” on December 16, 2024. The event was spearheaded by BSTM Program Chair Julie R. Cabalog, MBA, and Mr. Dexter Carl J. Corpuz, BSTM instructor, with the guidance of School of Business Management (SBM) Dean Dr. Julito V. Mandac Jr. The event aimed to showcase the students’ fine dining and modeling skills, emphasizing the importance of confidence in personal and professional settings.

J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) unveiled its Intellectual Property and Technology Business Management (IPTBM) Marker on December 16, 2024, at Caridad, Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur. Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, College President of JHCSC, led the unveiling ceremony and was joined by Director Noel A. Catibog of the DOST-PCAARRD TTPD. Along with them were JHCSC Dumingag Campus Director Dr. Moises Glenn G. Tangalin, JHCSC-IPTBM Project Leader Mr. Rickler R. Detalla, and Dr. Reynante E. Autida, Regional Program Leader for RAISE IX.

The 4th Quarter Regular Meetings of the Academic and Administrative Councils were held on December 12, 2024, at the Pagadian City Extension Campus Conference Room. While some members attended in person, others participated virtually via Google Meet. Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, College Visionary President, chaired both meetings consecutively.

The JH Cerilles State College (JHCSC) Finance Committee, under the leadership of President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, convened for a meeting on December 16, 2024, at the Conference Room, 3rd Floor, I.T. Building, Pagadian City Extension Campus. The session was chaired by Hon. Maria Felicidad R. Guerrero, NEDA IX Director, and focused on financial matters significant to the institution’s operations.
