Stronger & Bolder JHCSC for Quality Tertiary Education

JHCSC student leaders, led by Hon. Cyrusdirk L. Elle, Supreme Student Federated Council President and Student Trustee, together with system-wide officers and the Office of the Student Affairs and Services (OSAS) headed by Dr. Jonno E. Tan, organized a two-day Leadership Training, Orientation Seminar, Financial Planning, and Workshop.

J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) Main Campus Alumnus Mr. Jeo P. Huminis, a pure-blooded Subanen from Lapuyan, Zamboanga del Sur, has been awarded the Gokongwei Brothers Foundation (GBF) TeachSTEM Graduate Master’s Scholarship and signed the scholarship agreement on November 26, 2024. Mr. Huminis, who completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education, majoring in Mathematics, on July 25, 2022, is now pursuing his Master’s degree at JHCSC, his alma mater.

The JHCSC Basketball Team’s dominance secured the championship title in the Inter-Collegiate Basketball Tournament held during the 58th Araw ng Mabuhay 2025, securing a 66-60 victory against IBA College of Mindanao Inc. (IBACMI) Bukidnon. The thrilling match took place on January 22, 2025, at the Diosdado Macapagal Gymnasium in Mabuhay, Zamboanga Sibugay.

The JHCSC Basketball Team made history by claiming a dominant 74-59 victory over Southern Mindanao Colleges in Game 2 Finals of the Asenso Athletics Cup Season 2 Inter-School Basketball Tournament –College Division, held on January 18, 2025, at the Asenso Covered Court, Plaza Luz, Pagadian City. This commanding win secured their second consecutive championship, standing as a powerful testament to their unwavering determination, skill, and excellence.

The Planning and Development Office (PDO), led by Dr. Cleofe A. Baterna, Jr., held a meeting on January 17, 2025, to align and present the institution’s Strategic Plan for 2025–2023. Chaired by Finance Director Dr. Joel M. Sabellano, Jr., the session was held at the JHCSC Hostel in the Pagadian City Extension Campus, marking a significant step in the college’s journey toward achieving universityhood.

The J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) MEASURES Team, led by President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, held its first meeting of the year on January 14, 2025, at the Pagadian City Extension Campus Hostel. The College’s key officials attended the meeting, including the President, Vice Presidents, Campus Directors, Deans, and Heads of various offices.

The achievements of the Pagadian Campus 2024 Board Exam passers, including newly registered nurses and licensed teachers, as well as the Civil Service Exam passers, were honored on January 14, 2025, during Pagadian City Extension Campus’ first flag-raising ceremony of the second semester of the academic year 2024-2025. This significant event was organized by the Office of Student Affairs, led by Mrs. Janniece L. Magsayo.

On January 14, 2025, Atty. Marco Cicero F. Domingo, the newly appointed CHED-ROIX Regional Director, briefly visited the JHCSC’s first MEASURES Meeting of the year, held at the Pagadian City Extension Campus Hostel. Participants had the opportunity to take a commemorative photo with him before he proceeded to the Main Campus for a tour.

Atty. Marco Cicero F. Domingo, CESE, the newly appointed Regional Director of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Regional Office IX (CHED-ROIX), made his first campus consultation visit at J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) on January 13, 2025. The visit coincided with JHCSC’s first Executive Meeting of the year, attended by the Key officials of the College, including President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, Vice Presidents, Campus Administrators, Deans, and Heads of various offices, held at the Pagadian City Extension Campus Hostel.
