Last November 11, 2014, JHCSC lunched TABANG Extension Program at Laperian, San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur, one of the said poorest barangay in the Municipality of San Miguel. The program was started at exactly 10 O’clock in the morning participated with the JHCSC Officials lead by the president of J.H. Cerilles State College, Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales together with the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Mary Jocelyn V. Battung, and the Extension Director, Mr. Fortunato M. Gumintad. It was also participated by the Local Government Unit lead by the Municipal Mayor, Hon. Angelito L. Martinez II together with his Vice Mayor, Hon. Celso Otero, and the Chairman of Agriculture SB Member Hon. Jaime Rubio and most of all the active residence of Laperian lead by the Father of the Barangay Hon. Macutay S. Ojas and his Councilors.
This program was all about the signing of Memorandum of Agreement as basis for the implementation of the project entitled “THE TABANG EXTENSION PROGRAM – LIVELIHOOD PROJECT”, under the Extension Services of the JH Cerilles State College, Main Campus, Mati, San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur to showcase the programs and projects of the Campus and help disseminate awareness to the populace in the Barangay about the importance of this “TABANG EXTENSION PROGRAM – LIVELIHOOD PROJECT”. This will help the populace in the area to improve quality of life, income, health condition with minimum of less expense and minimize the use of commercial products as well as providing adequate supply in their farm. It will serve also as a model project to other barangays in the Municipality adopting “TABANG EXTENSION PROGRAM – LIVELIHOOD PROJECT”.

N – utrition and Health Programs
G – enerate income from livelihood activities and support
The program was a memorable one, all participants were enjoyed and witnessed all the intermission number prepared by the residence of Barangay Laperian, and not just the people in Barangay Laperian but even the JHCSC and LGU Officials prepared their own.
