The School of Business and Management (SBM) of J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) conducted a seminar and workshop on February 6-7, 2025, at the JHCSC Hostel. The event, part of the Barangay Empowerment and Good Governance under the TABANGE Framework, was led by Extension Director Prof. Ricky A. Egos and supported by JHCSC President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales. Project Leaders Maricar P. Rellon, MBA-HRM, and Dr. Myrna V. Ceño, DBM-HM, along with Dr. Julito V. Mandac, Jr., Dean of SBM, facilitated the seminar to enhance entrepreneurial skills, financial literacy, and professional competencies.

The seminar partnered with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), in which guest speakers shared their expertise on entrepreneurship, business creation, and the significance of strategic planning and communication. Notable speakers included Jason L. Jao, Elvis Q. Dablo, CTIDS, BDD, Iris Judith Guatno, Kevin A. Cumawas, Mrs. Ma. Angelica Evasco, and Mrs. Crisvil Sarsalijo. Additionally, faculty members from SBM contributed to the workshops, offering valuable sessions to the participants.

The seminar was attended by 60 non-working and indigent citizens from Barangay White Beach, Pagadian City. Hon. Merryhill G. Rabanos, the Barangay White Beach Deputy, who represented Barangay Captain Hon. Rey C. Rabanos, expressed her gratitude for the seminar. She thanked the SBM for allowing the residents to enhance their skills.

In his address, Prof. Ricky A. Egos highlighted the importance of leveraging local resources for sustainable livelihoods. He hoped the participants would gain the knowledge to establish their businesses, empowering them to create economic opportunities within their community.

The seminar provided participants with a balanced mix of theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed for entrepreneurial success. The event fostered collaboration and professional growth by equipping them with essential tools, ensuring that attendees left with actionable insights to excel in their entrepreneurial endeavors.
