The National Arts Month 2025 was officially launched at the J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) Pagadian City Extension Campus on February 10, 2025. The event was spearheaded by the DSA In-Charge, Mrs. Janniece L. Magsayo, and was facilitated by the students from the Supreme Student Council (SSC) and the Philippine Society of Information Technology Students (PSITS), and was supported by Campus Director Dr. Patricia D. Bahian, which highlighted the significance of the month-long celebration.
The event was attended by Deans, Faculty, Staff, and students from various departments. The attendees expressed their delight at the event, enjoying the vibrant celebration that marked the celebration of National Arts Month 2025. The atmosphere was filled with energy as everyone gathered to support and witness the creative talents of the students.
During the event, students showcased their talents through diverse dance performances, which highlighted different forms of dance styles, such as traditional, ethnic, and hip-hop styles. These performances captivated the audience, demonstrating the rich cultural heritage and modern expressions of art. The participants exhibited their dedication and passion for the arts, making the event a memorable and engaging experience for all.
Dr. Julito V. Mandac, Jr., Dean of the School of Business and Management (SBM), welcomed everyone, stressing the arts’ power in fostering empathy, challenging perspectives, and embracing change, urging support for Filipino artists. Meanwhile, Dr. Bahian, in her message, highlighted the importance of creativity and innovation in students’ respective fields, such as BS Nursing, BSIT, BSTM, BSED-English, and BSHM, emphasizing that art plays a vital role in their disciplines and encouraging students to take risks, strive for excellence, and inspire others.
The launch of National Arts Month 2025 at JHCSC has left a lasting impact on the campus, fostering an appreciation for the arts among students, faculty, and staff. It has provided a platform for artistic expression and strengthened the college’s cultural community, promoting unity and creativity across various disciplines.
