Stronger & Bolder JHCSC for Quality Tertiary Education

The two-day activity in line with celebrating the Entrepreneurship Days 2024 of J.H. Cerilles State College School of Business Management (JHCSC-SBM) commenced on November 7 at the Pagadian City Extension Campus. The event was spearheaded by Mr. Ernesto B. Medina Jr., Program Chair of the Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship, under SBM Dean Dr. Julito V. Mandac Jr.’s guidance and supported by President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales. It embraced the theme “Innovative Minds, Sustainable Enterprises; Shaping Tomorrow’s Leaders.” The opening day marked the start of activities focused on the “Waste to Class” motto, promoting sustainable, recyclable, and innovative business practices that benefit both the environment and the economy.

The Planning and Development Office (PDO), spearheaded by Dr. Cleofe A. Baterna, Jr., continued its session on updating the prioritization of projects for the JHCSC Land Use Development and Infrastructure Plan (LUDIP) at the Lakewood Campus Library of CMSE Poblacion. The presentation was delivered by LUDIP Focal Person, For. Larnie Galiste.

conducted last October 29 and 30! With a first-time takers pass rate of 72.73%, JHCSC has surpassed the national average of 70.53%, showcasing the excellence and dedication of its forestry program. It marks a significant milestone for the JHCSC System and is a remarkable achievement for the 𝘚𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘰𝘭 𝘰𝘧 𝘈𝘨𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦, 𝘍𝘰𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘺, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘌𝘯𝘷𝘪𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘭 𝘚𝘵𝘶𝘥𝘪𝘦𝘴 (𝘚𝘈𝘍𝘌𝘚).

It focused on updating the prioritization of projects under the JHCSC Land Use Development and Infrastructure Plan (LUDIP) for 2027 to 2032. For. The JHCSC School of Arts and Sciences, led by Dean Dr. Frederick F. Grengia, held an activity on October 31, 2024, at the College Gymnasium, in line with the culmination of the celebration of the National Indigenous Peoples Month and 27th Indigenous Peoples Rights Act (IPRA) Commemoration in collaboration with the Office of Student Affairs Services (OSAS), headed by Dean Dr. Jonno E. Tan and with the support of the Office of Main Campus Director, led by Mrs. Bemia Snooky A. Beboso.

The Philippine Information Agency Region IX (PIA-IX), headed by the Regional Director Ms. Noemi B. Edaga, conducted an Orientation and Capacity-Building session for iVolts on October 30, 2024, at the Conference Room on the 3rd Floor of the IT Building, Pagadian City Extension Campus. This initiative aimed to enhance the skills of youth and student volunteers in effectively disseminating information and fostering a more informed community regarding government programs and services. A total of 26 participants, including 18 students and eight network coordinators/advisers from nine different schools, participated in the orientation.

The Provincial Government Office of Zamboanga del Sur, led by Governor Victor J. Yu and with the support of 1st District Representative Hon. Divina Grace C. Yu and 2nd District Representative Hon. Jeyzel Victoria C. Yu, released educational assistance of 10,000 pesos each to 1,989 students displaced by the closure of JHCSC’s 16 extension campuses, on October 30, 2024, at Mega Gymnasium in Dao, Pagadian City.

The second batch of law students from the J.H. Cerilles State College School of Law (SOL) enrolled in the Clinical Legal Education Program (CLEP) took their oath as certified law student practitioners on October 30, 2024, at the Regional Trial Court, Branch 20, in Pagadian City. The ceremony was administered by Hon. Dennis P. Vicoy, Executive Judge. Atty. Bobby M. Borces, Clerk of Court for Branch 20 and the Supervising Lawyer Atty. Glory Grace Nodado-Obenza, were also in attendance.

The MASTS Committee convened on October 29, 2024, at the Pagadian Extension Campus to finalize the preparations for the MASTS Games 2024. Held in the 3rd-floor Conference Room of the I.T. Building, the meeting, presided over by Mr. Manuel C. Paster, Jr., ManCom Chairman, brought together key leaders, including Dr. Nelson P. Cabral, President of the Mindanao Association of State Tertiary Schools (MASTS) and Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University, along with directors and coordinators of Sports and Culture and the Arts from various State Universities and Colleges (SUCs).
