The JHCSC Gender and Development (GAD) Office, spearheaded by Director Dr. Trininad C. Abapo, organized a significant event for the 2024 National Women’s Month Celebration under the theme, “Lipunang Patas para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Kakayahan ng Kababaihan, Patunayan!”, on March 22, 2024, at the JHCSC Main Campus Gymnasium.
The attendee’s grand entrance set the celebratory tone, marking a day of reflection on women’s achievements and challenges. Joyous cheers filled the atmosphere as participants enthusiastically exclaimed, “Mabuhay ang mga Kababaihan!”. An engaging interpretative dance contest showcasing the talent of JHCSC students highlighted creativity and passion for gender equality advocacy.
Main Campus faculty, staff, and students, alongside third and fourth-year students from the High School Laboratory and members of the Gender Club, actively joined the event.
The esteemed attendees were Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Vilma C. Grengia, Dumingag Campus Administrator Dr. Moises Glenn G. Tangalin, Vice President for Research, Extension, and Resource Generation Dr. Jerry B. Superales, along with other prominent figures from JHCSC, and distinguished guests.
Among the distinguished guests were Dir. Maharani R. Gadaoni-Tosoc, Regional Director of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Zamboanga Peninsula and her PDEA Agents. In her message as the Guest Keynote Speaker, she shared three valuable lessons to empowerment: persevere, defy gender barriers, and maintain a positive perspective.
Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, JHCSC’s dynamic president, is a dedicated advocate for gender equality. His unwavering support for Gender and Development (GAD) initiatives reflects the institution’s commitment to inclusivity and equity.
