Stronger & Bolder JHCSC for Quality Tertiary Education

The School of Agriculture, Forestry, and Environmental Studies (SAFES), under the leadership of Dean Dr. Jerry B. Superales, Vice President for Research, Extension, and Resource Generation, celebrated its two-day SAFES Day 2024 on November 7-8 at JHCSC Dapiwak, Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur. The event carried the theme, “Advancing Agriculture for a Sustainable Future: Merging Innovation with Environmental Responsibility 2024.”

The Planning and Development Office (PDO) of J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) convened a meeting on November 11, 2024, to discuss the update and prioritization of the institution’s Land Use Development and Infrastructure Plan (LUDIP) for the 2027-2032 period, held at the Office of the President’s Board Room on the main campus, the session focused on strategic planning and the future direction of infrastructure projects, led by the PDO, Dr. Cleofe A. Baterna Jr., Planning Director, and facilitated by For. Larnie Galiste, the LUDIP Focal Person, under the leadership of JHCSC President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, who provided valuable insights and guidance throughout the session.

The School of Law (SOL), led by Dean Atty. Romylyn O. Regidor proudly hosted an acquaintance party on November 9, 2024, at Pavilion Hall, Dao, Pagadian City. Organized by the School of Law Student Council (SSC) officers led by the outgoing SSC President, Ms. Estella Marie N. Calib, the event embraced the theme “Cohesiveness in Diversity: Embracing Greatness Through Embodying the Culture of Perseverance and Camaraderie.”

Nine BSED Science students from J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) attended the 7th International Conference and Annual Meeting on STEM Education (IAMSTEM 2024), held on November 6 to 7, 2024, at the MSU-Iligan Institute of Technology in Iligan City, Philippines. The event gathered academics, researchers, and students from around ASEAN countries to explore the latest developments in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education, fostering a global exchange of ideas and research.

The J.H. Cerilles State College School of Law (JHCSC-SOL), led by Dean Atty. Romylyn O. Regidor held its first-ever psychological event, 𝘗𝘈𝘓𝘈𝘞𝘙𝘖 2024, on November 9 at the Pagadian City Extension Campus Lobby. Themed “Cohesiveness in Diversity: Embracing Greatness Through Embodying the Culture of Perseverance and Camaraderie” aimed to promote mental well-being and foster unity among law students. It was organized by the JHCSC-SOL Student Supreme Council (SCC), spearheaded by President Mrs. Estella Marie N. Calib.

The School of Teacher Education (STE) at JHCSC held its much-anticipated English Extravaganza 2024 on November 8 at the Main Campus Gymnasium, with the theme “The Language of Transformations: Stories that Unite Cultures.” The event was led by the Association of English Enthusiasts (ASSEN) President, Mr. John Paolo O. Elducal along with Mrs. Jezreel V. Verallo, MAEd, Adviser of ASSEN, and under the guidance of Mrs. Gejazhylle P. Engaño, MAEd, BSED Program Chair. The celebration received the full support of Dr. Starr Clyde L. Sebial, STE Dean, and conducted under the leadership of President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, alongside Dr. Vilma C. Grengia, Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA). The event highlighted the role of English as a global lingua franca in bridging cultural divides and promoting international collaboration, communication, and cultural exchange.

The two-day activity in line with celebrating the Entrepreneurship Days 2024 of J.H. Cerilles State College School of Business Management (JHCSC-SBM) commenced on November 7 at the Pagadian City Extension Campus. The event was spearheaded by Mr. Ernesto B. Medina Jr., Program Chair of the Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship, under SBM Dean Dr. Julito V. Mandac Jr.’s guidance and supported by President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales. It embraced the theme “Innovative Minds, Sustainable Enterprises; Shaping Tomorrow’s Leaders.” The opening day marked the start of activities focused on the “Waste to Class” motto, promoting sustainable, recyclable, and innovative business practices that benefit both the environment and the economy.
