The Office of the Vice President for Research, Extension, and Resource Generation of JHCSC, under the leadership of Dr. Jerry B. Superales, with the support of President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, conducted a three-day research and extension capability training from June 25 to 27, 2025, at the JHCSC Hostel, Pagadian City Extension Campus. The activity was part of the institution’s efforts to further enhance its research culture and extension services in line with its strategic goals.

The training was facilitated by the Research and Resource Generation Director, Assoc. Prof. Ruel S. Lasagas, and was attended by Assoc. Prof. Ricky A. Egos, Extension Director and faculty researchers from the Main, Pagadian, CMSE, and Dumingag campuses. The program aimed to build the participants’ competencies in research methodology, proposal development, and extension project implementation.

Serving as resource speakers were Assoc. Prof. Bonjovi H. Hajan of MSU-Tawi-Tawi and Assoc. Prof. Jovito Anito, Jr. of JRMSU. Both shared practical strategies and evidence-based insights to help improve the quality, relevance, and sustainability of research and extension outputs across JHCSC campuses.

This initiative forms part of the college’s proactive measures to strengthen its research and extension framework as it prepares for its transition to universityhood—underscoring its commitment to academic excellence, community development, and institutional growth.

Soar high, J.H. Cerilles State College!
