Representatives from JHCSC, headed by President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, along with Dr. Jerry B. Superales, Vice President for Research, Extension, and Resource Generation; Dr. Trinidad C. Abapo, Main Campus Director; Dr. Emelyn B. Tormes, Dean of SAFES; and Prof. Charmagne Merontos, Gender and Development Focal, are currently participating in the 2025 Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) Midterm Convention and General Assembly, being held from July 9 to 11 at the SMX Convention Center Manila, Pasay City.

Carrying the theme “Forging the Future: Empowering SUCs through Innovation, Sustainability, and Excellence,” the ongoing three-day convention brings together presidents and senior officials from State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) across the country. The event serves as a venue for strengthening institutional collaboration, sharing best practices, and aligning strategic efforts to enhance the quality and relevance of public higher education in the Philippines.

Discussions focus on key areas shaping the future of SUCs, including strategic investments, digital transformation, human capital development, sustainability, global competitiveness, innovation, research collaboration, and transformational governance. These are being delivered by esteemed speakers from government agencies and partner organizations, highlighting the critical role of SUCs in advancing inclusive growth and national development.

Through their active participation, JHCSC officials affirm their commitment to the institution’s strategic vision and continued engagement in initiatives that promote innovation, academic excellence, and responsive governance. The convention underscores the importance of unified leadership and collective action as SUCs adapt to the evolving demands of the higher education landscape.
