JHCSC Dancesports Team brings home a haul of medals at the 6th HIGALA-AY National Open Dancesports Competition

The J.H. Cerilles State College Dancesports team unveiled their talent and determination at the 6th HIGALA-AY National Open Dancesports Competition last August 17, 2024, at Atrium Limketkai Mall in Cagayan de Oro City. They’ve competed against hundreds of dance sports athletes across the Philippines yet still bagged home an impressive haul of medals, further solidifying JHCSC’s honor in the dance sports arena.
Under the guidance of Mr. Ernesto B. Medina, Jr. and Mr. Jerwin Rey R. Alcoseba, their coaches, together with the support of Ms. Nicole John Tejano, Mr. Mark John Lagrimosa, and Mr. Alrich Nistal, their trainers, the team excelled in both Modern Standard and Latin Disciplines.
In the Modern Standard Category, Mr. Allen John Porsuelo and Ms. Loren Ibabao, both BSTM students, performed outstandingly, securing two gold medals and one silver: their teammates, Mr. Francis Ely Jarales (BSE) and Ms. Harshee Dan Jamilon (BSE), also made their mark, winning two silvers and two bronzes.

Meanwhile, in the Latin Discipline, Ms. Princess Amacanin (BSE) and Mr. Francis Ely Jarales added to the team’s success by winning two bronzes in the said category.
Notably, Assistant Coach Jerwin Rey R. Alcoseba also competed in the Grade D Latin category, where he delivered a stellar performance, bagging two gold medals, two silver medals, and one bronze. His success indicates not only his talent but has set a role model to pump up the whole team.
These sterling achievements of the JHCSC Dancesport Team, under the guidance of their coaches and trainers, manifest their hard work, efforts, and dedication. Additionally, the team expressed their heartfelt gratitude to President Edgardo H.
