Stronger & Bolder JHCSC for Quality Tertiary Education

The JHCSC Management Information System and Technology Office (MISTO), headed by Director Ronald C. Luste, hosted a two-day MIS Software Orientation on Financial Automation and Resource Management System on January 9-10, 2025 at the JHCSC Hostel, Pagadian City Extension Campus. The event was led by Caraga State University (CARSU) representatives, including CARSU President Dr. Rolyn Daguil, along with the CARSU MIS (Management Information System) team: Mr. Dave Anthony Asis, MIS Director and Mr. Clark Justine Gonzales, ICT Director.

The Federated Faculty and Staff Association (FFASA) held its General Assembly on January 9, 2025, at the Mega Gymnasium, Provincial Compound, Dao, Pagadian City. FFASA President Prof. Glady C. Quirante and newly elected officers led the event, which was supported by J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales. The assembly aimed to strengthen the association’s unity and outline its future direction.

J.H. Cerilles State College President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, along with the prominent education stakeholders and leaders from various State Colleges and Universities (SUCs), attended the Welcome, Turnover, and Acceptance Ceremony for the Outgoing and Incoming Directors of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Regional Office IX on January 9, 2025, at Cordobiza Hall, Marcian Garden Hotel.

The 3rd Inter-Campus Consultation Meeting and Harmonization of Financial Transactions took place on January 8, 2025, at the J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) Pagadian Campus, IT Building Conference Hall. The meeting, led by Mr. Wilfredo Barnido, Jr., Vice President for Administration and Finance, with the support of JHCSC President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, aimed to address critical issues related to finance, transaction flow, supply management, and assess and prioritize solutions to these challenges.

President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales spearheaded a faculty and staff orientation on January 8, 2025, held at the Conference Room, 3rd floor I.T. Building, Pagadian City Extension Campus. The meeting convened key college officials, including Dr. Joel Sabellano, Jr., Finance Director; Mr. Ruel Lasagas, Research Director; Mrs. Bemia Snooky Beboso, Main Campus Director; Atty. Princess Rosal Inclan, Atty. Esther Marie Ringon, College Legal Counsel, as well as heads of offices, deans, program chairs, faculty, and staff.

A Faculty and Staff Meeting was conducted on January 7, 2025, at the J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) Lakewood Campus. The meeting, led by JHCSC President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, with Prof. Bobby S. Piscos, Lakewood Campus Director, and Dr. Rebie Marie Matildo, Lakewood Campus Academic Director, served as an orientation and motivational session for the faculty and staff. The primary goal was to discuss strategies for fostering academic growth and development in the coming year.

An inter-campus consultation meeting aimed at harmonizing financial transactions was held on January 7, 2025, at the J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) Lakewood Campus under the leadership of Mr. Wilfredo Barnido, Jr., Vice President for Administration and Finance, with ICU Director Mr. Norbert Dave Talip, and supported by JHCSC President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, which sought to address key issues concerning the flow of the distribution, process, supply, and finance. The session was designed to formulate an action plan to resolve these challenges.

The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Region IX has officially granted a Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) to the Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship (BSEntrep) and Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management (BSTM) programs of the J.H. Cerilles State College – Pagadian City Extension Campus. Issued on December 10, 2024, this affirms the programs’ adherence to CHED standards, marking a significant milestone for the School of Business and Management (SBM).

President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales attended the Faculty and Staff orientation of the Dumingag Campus on January 6, 2025. Held at the JHCSC Dumingag Campus Function Hall, the event was led by Dr. Moises Glenn G. Tangalin, Dumingag Campus Director. Among the attendees were Mr. Ruel S. Lasagas, Research Director, as well as deans, program chairs, faculty, and staff from the campus.

Under the leadership of Mr. Wilfredo Barnido, Jr., Vice President for Administration and Finance, the offices under the Administration and Finance (VPAF) held a meeting at the JHCSC Dumingag Campus Quality Assurance Office on January 6, 2025. With the support of President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, the gathering brought together key officials, including Dr. Jerry B. Superales, Vice President for Research, Extension, and Resource Generation (VPRERG), Dr. Joel M. Sabellano, Finance Director and Dr. Moises Glenn Tangalin, Dumingag Campus Director. The meeting served as a platform for consultation, with an open forum led by Mr. Barnido, where attendees discussed key challenges and opportunities for improvement.
