The Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) program of J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) Main Campus celebrated its 17th Cyberian Fest on May 2 at the campus gymnasium, with the theme “The Digital Leap: Transforming Learning with IT.” The four-day event was spearheaded by Cyberian Club Adviser Mr. Marvin Mejorada, with guidance from the School of Engineering and Technology (SET) Dean, Engr. Perla A. Rivera, and support from Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA) Dr. Vilma C. Grengia.

The annual fest featured a dynamic lineup of activities that showcased the skills, creativity, and technical knowledge of BSIT students. Highlights included the Digital Making Contest, Computer Programming Contest, Capstone Poster Display, Capstone System Presentation, Cyberian Digital Film Festival, Cyberian Modelling, and lively music and dance competitions. The event drew enthusiastic participation from faculty, staff, students, and alums, who were honored with certificates and souvenirs as part of the celebration.

A significant portion of the event focused on the BSIT students’ capstone projects. Dr. Grengia commended the student researchers for their innovative systems, noting that some projects have the potential to be adopted by real users and clients. This reflects the department’s mission to bridge academic learning with practical application—allowing students to contribute meaningful solutions to industry and community needs.

The 17th Cyberian Fest not only celebrated student talent and achievement but also emphasized the evolving role of IT in modern education. The event fostered collaboration, inspired innovation, and strengthened the connection between the institution, its stakeholders, and the IT community.

Soar high, J.H. Cerilles State College!
