The Federated Faculty and Staff Association (FFASA) held its General Assembly on January 9, 2025, at the Mega Gymnasium, Provincial Compound, Dao, Pagadian City. FFASA President Prof. Glady C. Quirante and newly elected officers led the event, which was supported by J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales. The assembly aimed to strengthen the associationโs unity and outline its future direction.
Faculty and staff from the Main, Pagadian, Lakewood, and Dumingag campuses gathered for the event. Dr. Moises Glenn G. Tangalin, JHCSC Dumingag Campus Director, served as the guest speaker and urged attendees to take responsibility for guiding the association toward growth. โBe happy with what you are doing,โ he encouraged, emphasizing the importance of passion and commitment to progress. Moreover, in his remarks, Prof. Quirante highlighted that being an FFASA officer is not just a role but a responsibility to uphold excellence, unity, and the institution’s success.
The event also featured a raffle, with 16 lucky faculty and staff members each winning a 200-peso prize, sponsored by Private Sector Representatives, Hon. Grace M. Silla and Hon. Mary Ann Farrales. Additionally, attendees reviewed key documents, including provisions, the constitution, by-laws, and proposals. They discussed the benefits of being an FFASA member, which include access to opportunities, a stronger sense of community, and the ability to contribute to the association’s growth and advocacy.
The primary goal of the assembly was to foster unity among FFASA members and provide newly elected officers with a platform to present their vision for the association’s growth. It reinforced their commitment to building a supportive, collaborative environment at JHCSC and advancing the institution’s collective goals.
