The second-year Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) showcased their culinary expertise and service skills through a Filipino-themed breakfast catering event held on May 2, 2025, at the J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) Pagadian Campus-hostel. The event was a practical final examination for their course HM 113: Fundamentals in Food Service Operations under Professor Llanevie Azel Niez.
As part of their finals, the BSHM-2 students prepared and served a full-course breakfast, highlighting the richness of Filipino cuisine. The menu included a variety of appetizers, hearty soups, blanched vegetables, assorted meats, egg dishes, and a selection of hot and cold beverages. The highlight of the meal was a fusion dessert combining Filipino and European elements, which delighted the faculty, staff, and students in attendance with its creativity and refined presentation.
Beyond fulfilling academic requirements, the event underscored the college’s commitment to experiential learning and skills development in hospitality education. It provided students with a platform to demonstrate their readiness for the industry while reinforcing JHCSC’s goal of producing competent, job-ready graduates equipped with practical knowledge and cultural appreciation.
Soar high, J.H. Cerilles State College!
