Stronger & Bolder JHCSC for Quality Tertiary Education

The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) conducted the National Competency Level III (NC III) Assessment in Horticulture from February 15-16, 2025, at the JHCSC Main Campus Community Extension Services Office. This event followed the previous assessment carried out from February 7-9, 2025.

The Jose Rizal Memorial State University (JRMSU) Sidlak Technology Business Incubator (TBI) Team, led by Prof. Yehbron J. Lagud, Sidlak TBI Project Leader and Manager, conducted a courtesy visit to JHCSC on February 17, 2025, to conduct the Provincial Technopreneurship Caravan at the JHCSC Hostel, Pagadian City Extension Campus. The initiative aims to strengthen partnerships and explore potential collaborations in technology-driven business incubation.

The School of Teacher Education (STE) Day commenced on February 17, 2025, at the STE Gym, with the theme “Unleashing the Brilliance Within: Empowering Future Educators Through the Pillars of Education.” The event was facilitated by STE Mayor Mr. Ariel D. Dumingding and D’ Mentors’ Club Mayor Ms. Maria Lolita E. Hernandez, with the support of STE Dean Dr. Starr Clyde L. Sebial.

J.H. Cerilles State College marked the celebration of Dilaab 2025 on February 14, 2025, at the Main Campus gymnasium, with the theme “Kindling Connections, Igniting Camaraderie,” setting the tone for the event. Organized by the Supreme Student Council (SSC) Officers under the leadership of SSC Adviser Sir Ariel Sajulga and facilitated by Mr. Earl Ryan D. Siso, the event was supported by the Office of Student Affairs Services (OSAS), led by Dean Dr. Jonno E. Tan. The event was also in line with the celebration of National Arts Month 2025, highlighting the importance of culture and creativity.

Under the leadership of Dean Atty. Romylyn O. Regidor, the JHCSC School of Law (SOL) hosted a testimonial and appreciation night on February 15, 2025, at the Pavilion Hall in Dao, Pagadian City. The event celebrated the achievements of those who passed the September 8, 11, and 15, 2024 BAR Examinations.

The J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) Community Extension Services Office awarded piglets to five non-working and indigent citizens of Barangay White Beach, Pagadian City, at the JHCSC-Canuto, MS Enerio Campus’ multiplier farm on February 15, 2025. The activity was led by Extension Director Prof. Ricky Aranas Egos and facilitated by one of the project leaders of the TABANGE Program, Dr. Myrna V. Ceño, DBM-HM.

The J.H. Cerilles State College Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (JHCSC-DRRMO), led by its director, Mr. Jerry R. Redoblado, conducted a two-day Disaster Preparedness and Response Training for Administrative Support Services Personnel at the Pagadian City Extension Campus. The event was held at the IT Building Conference Room on February 15-16, 2025.

The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) conducted its Institutional Assessment and Monitoring and Evaluation Activity led by CHED Regional Director, Atty. Marco Cicero F. Domingo, CESE at the J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) – Pagadian City Extension Campus Hostel on February 12, 2025. The Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA), Dr. Vilma C. Grengia, facilitated the activity under the leadership of JHCSC President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales.

Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, President of J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC), with BOT Secretary Designate and Legal Officer Atty. Esther Marie Ringon and Vice President for Administration and Finance (VPAF) Mr. Wilfredo M. Barnido, Jr., attended the General Assembly and Turnover Ceremony held on February 12, 2025, at the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Auditorium in Diliman, Quezon City. The event gathered Presidents and Board Secretaries of State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) under the leadership of Hon. Ronald L. Adamat, marking the conclusion of Hon. Adamat’s term as CHED Commissioner and the official leadership transition to Dr. Desiderio R. Apag III.

Representatives from the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) visited the Dapiwak, Dumingag Campus on February 11, 2025, to conduct a site validation for the water source identified through Georesistivity for the proposed Solar Water System. The initiative, aimed at enhancing water access and agricultural sustainability, aligns with the institution’s commitment to environmental stewardship and cost-effective resource management.
