The State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (SCUAA) 2025 formally opened on April 22, 2025, at Camiguin Polytechnic State College (CPSC), with colorful ceremonies and a sporting spirit as student-athletes from all over the country came together for the annual national games.
Seventeen (17) regions are represented by the different State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), each bringing their top performers to compete during this week-long sporting event whose objective is unity, athletic competition, and cultural exchange among tertiary schools.
J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC), representing Region IX, is one of the delegates who is standing tall alongside other SUCs from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
The ceremony included a parade of athletes, hoisting of regional flags, and ceremonial lighting of the torch. Principal officials from the CHED, host college, and local government offices welcomed the participants and stressed the importance of sports in developing disciplined, strong, and balanced students.
“SCUAA is not simply a sports meet. It’s a celebration of youth, excellence, and the sustained effort of state universities and colleges to nation-building,” CPSC President Dr. Macario B. Oclarit stated during the opening program.
The ceremony ended with a cultural presentation highlighting Camiguin’s local culture and a fireworks show, officially signaling the beginning of SCUAA 2025.
Soar high, J.H. Cerilles State College!
