President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales and Engr. Michael Torino, MPA, Section Chief, Bridge and Other Public Works Design/Head of the Planning Division, officially signed the Revised Project of Works for the Academic Building for the JHCSC Lakewood Campus on September 25, 2024, at the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Region IX Office in Zamboanga City. This agreement represents a significant advancement in the project’s implementation, aimed at enhancing the educational infrastructure at the institution.
The first-ever JHCSC System’s Mental Health Advocacy has officially launched on September 25, 2024, at the JHCSC Pagadian Annex Lobby, Pagadian City. The event coincided with the global observance of Mental Health Awareness and adopted the theme, “It is Time to Prioritize Mental Health in the Workplace.” This theme highlights the growing importance of mental well-being, particularly in professional environments where stress and mental health issues often go unaddressed. Among the attendees were Dr. Patricia D. Bahian, Campus Administrator, Mrs. Janniece L. Magsayo, Pagadian Annex DSA In-Charge, the guidance counselors from the different campuses, faculty, staff, and students.
The newly elected officers of the Federated Faculty and Staff Association (FFASA) officially took their oath of office on September 23, 2024, at the JHCSC Student Center Building, Main Campus, Mati, San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur. The ceremony marks the beginning of their leadership term, with academic community members gathered to witness the event.
The School of Criminal Justice Education (SOCJE) of JHCSC Main Campus conducted its annual Recognition Rites and Inter-agency Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) Signing on September 20, 2024, at JHCSC Main Campus Gymnasium. Principal attendees for the said program are some law enforcement stakeholders from regions of Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Region IX, Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Region IX, Zamboanga del Sur Maritime, and several Municipal Police Stations.
The JHCSC MEASURES Committee, under the visionary leadership of President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, held an executive meeting on September 20, 2024, at the 3rd Floor I.T. Building, Conference Hall, Pagadian Annex. The meeting focused on addressing issues and finding solutions to the pressing concerns faced by the institution. Key officials and Heads of Offices attended the session, discussing strategies to effectively realign the institution’s direction and respond to urgent matters.
As part of the 124th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary, JHCSC participated in a nationwide tree-growing initiative on September 20, 2024, in Barangay Tawagan Sur, Pagadian City. With the theme “Malasakit sa Kalikasan, Malasakit sa Lingkod Bayani,” this initiative aims to positively impact the environment and promote a greener future for the next generations.
Regional Director of Philippine Information Agency Region IX (PIA-IX), Ms. Noemi B. Edaga, along with the PIA-ZDS Staff Mr. Harvy T. Bangayan, Information Officer, and Ms. Clennkei C. Peñalosa, Government Information Center Coordinator, conducted a courtesy visit at J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) Pagadian Annex on September 19, 2024, facilitated by the Public Affairs Office staff accompanied by Dr. Joel M. Sabellano, Jr., Chief Administrative Officer. During the visit, the potential areas of collaboration between PIA and JHCSC were discussed, and insights about the formation of iVolunteers (iVolts) within the institution were explored.
J.H. Cerilles State College spearheaded its first-ever Mobile Kumustahan that coincided with the 124th Anniversary of the Philippine Civil Service under the theme “Transforming Public Service in the Next Decade: Honoring Agile and Future-Ready Servant Heroes.” It started last September 18, 2024, at the JHCSC Dumingag Campus and continues today at the JHCSC Lakewood Campus.
