To promote standardized records management practices and enhance institutional efficiency, the Records and Archives Office (RAO, led by Mrs. Mae Desiree L. Luste, Records Officer II, spearheaded a Basic Records Management Training across the JHCSC campuses from May 6 to 9, 2025.
The four-day activity aimed to equip record custodians with the essential knowledge and competencies to effectively manage and preserve official documents, ensuring their long-term value and accessibility. Participants included personnel from various offices across the Dumingag, CSME, Pagadian, and Main campuses.
The training featured a series of discussions led by members of the RAO team. Mrs. Luste opened the event by presenting the rationale behind the initiative, highlighting the need for uniformity and systematic handling of institutional records. Ms. Shara Joy R. Guira delivered a session on current records filing, followed by Ms. Stephanie Grace S. Alcomendras, who tackled matrix filing techniques. Concluding the technical sessions, Ms. Shabeeba C. Carbonilla shared best practices on file management, providing participants with practical insights to streamline their documentation processes.
In her closing remarks, Mrs. Luste expressed her heartfelt appreciation to all attendees for their active participation and commitment to improving records management across campuses. She also extended her gratitude to JHCSC President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales for his unwavering support, which was instrumental in the successful implementation of the training.
