The School of Teacher Education (STE) hosted an orientation and pinning ceremony for the Class of 2024-2025 pre-service teachers on September 30, 2024, at the Main Campus Gymnasium in Mati, San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur. The event was spearheaded by Dr. Starr Clyde Sebial, Dean of the School of Teacher Education, in collaboration with the Department of Education (DepEd) – Division of Zamboanga del Sur, under the leadership of Dr. Jeanelyn A. Aleman, CESO VI, Schools Division Superintendent.
To mark the Suicide Prevention Awareness Month Culmination, the J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) Lakewood Campus, under the leadership of Prof. Ricky A. Egos, the Administrator, hosted a program aimed at raising awareness and fostering mental health support for students and which integrated the Oath Taking Ceremony of the Student Peer Facilitators held on September 30, 2024, at the Brgy—Poblacion Covered Court in Lakewood participated by faculty, staff, and students.
In line with Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, the Guidance and Counseling Office of J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) Main Campus, led by Mrs. Jonah T. Salaguste, RGC, RPm, held a culminating activity at the Library’s Audio-Visual Room (AVR) on September 30, 2024. The event, supported by the Student Peer Facilitators and spearheaded by their president, Mr. James F. Gudmalin, a BA in Political Science student, aimed to raise awareness and promote mental health support among students.
The Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA), under the leadership of Dr. Vilma C. Grengia, conducted the Midyear Performance Review and Strategic Plan 2025 for the Student Affairs Division, which took place in the Conference Room of the Pagadian Annex Campus on September 27, 2024, attended by the Heads of Student Services across the JHCSC Campuses including Main, Pagadian Annex, Dumingag, and Canuto.
President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, together with Dr. Moises Glenn G. Tangalin, Dumingag Campus Administrator, led a site visitation at JHCSC Dumingag Campus on September 27, 2024. Top executives from Syntegral Global Solutions Group, including CEO Mr. Bryan Thomas, CTO Mr. Randy Knutson, and Coconut Managing Director Engr. Ramon Barbos attended the visit. The team conducted a comprehensive evaluation of the campus’ land area, marking a pivotal step in their partnership to explore sustainable agricultural opportunities within the institution.
On behalf of President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, Dr. Moises Glenn G. Tangalin, Dumingag Campus Administrator, and Atty. Esther Marie Ringon, BOT Secretary Designate, and College Legal Counsel attended the consultation with the partner agencies of Syntegral Global Solutions on September 27, 2024, at the Subanen Hall, Provincial Government Complex, Barangay Dao, Pagadian City.
Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, SUC President II of JH Cerilles State College and David Padgett, CEO of SeeMeSOL inked a Memorandum of Agreement during the launching of SeeMeSOL Philippine Office in Makati City on September 27, 2024, witnessed by Wendell Glenn Cagape, PhD, the Director for Internationalization and External Linkages.
In preparation for natural disasters, JHCSC conducted an earthquake drill in participation with the 3rd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) across all JHCSC campuses on September 26, 2024. The drill aims to equip every JHCSCian with the skills and awareness to respond effectively to earthquakes and enhance overall preparedness.
The J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) Board of Trustees (BOT) Finance Committee convened a crucial meeting on September 26, 2024, in the I.T. Building Conference Room at the Pagadian Annex Campus.
