The Office of the Internationalization and External Linkages (OIEL), led by Director Dr. Raymund A. Indangan, conducted an Information Session on the Manaaki New Zealand Scholarships Programme (MNZSP) on March 16, 2026, at the JHCSC Hostel, Pagadian City Extension Campus. The activity aimed to present academic opportunities for junior faculty, staff, researchers, and alumni to pursue postgraduate studies in Aotearoa, New Zealand, through the scholarship program.
In his message, JHCSC President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales expressed his gratitude for the opportunity, emphasizing that the initiative can foster stronger collaboration and create more opportunities for members of the academic community who aspire to study abroad.
The session highlighted the benefits and prospects offered by the Manaaki New Zealand Scholarships Programme, particularly in developing globally competitive professionals and future leaders. Ms. Dyan Mabunga, Head of New Zealand International Development Cooperation at the New Zealand Embassy in Manila, provided key information on scholarship offerings, eligibility requirements, and application procedures, offering participants a clear guide on how to apply and qualify for the program.
Adding perspective to the discussion, NCIP IX Regional Director Adolf Ryan Lantion shared his personal experience studying in Aotearoa, New Zealand, offering insights on academic life and the impact of international education on professional growth.
The event served as an avenue to promote academic mobility and strengthen global linkages, extending its reach beyond the physical venue through a Facebook Live broadcast that enabled a wider audience to participate in the discussion. The session also welcomed interested participants beyond JHCSC, broadening opportunities for aspiring scholars to explore the Manaaki New Zealand Scholarships Programme and engage with its application process.
