Stronger & Bolder JHCSC for Quality Tertiary Education

The JHCSC Health Services Unit, led by School Physician Dr. Kharlou C. Tago, in collaboration with the NSTP Office headed by NSTP Director Mr. Joniel C. Calibo, successfully held an HIV/AIDS Symposium on September 5, 2025, at Balangasan Gymnasium, Pagadian City. The event was organized in partnership with the Margos sa Tubig Regional Hospital (MRH) with the theme, “Breaking the Stigma, Building the Future,” emphasizing the importance of HIV/AIDS education and awareness.

The J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) – School of Law Supreme Student Council (SSC), led by President Princess Eve Quiamno, successfully convened its Annual General Assembly Meeting on September 6, 2025. The event brought together Juris Doctor students from both the four-year and five-year curricula, serving as a venue to address student concerns and reinforce academic and organizational initiatives within the college.

The School of Teacher Education (STE) of J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC), led by Dean Dr. Starr Clyde Sebial, organized a one-day seminar-orientation on Republic Act 12028, also known as the Academic Recovery and Accessible Learning (ARAL) Program, and Action Research across JHCSC campuses. The orientation officially began on September 2, 2025, with all STE faculty and students from the 𝐌𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐬 attending the activity as part of their preparation for teacher development, research, and community engagement.

The Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP), Inc., conducted a five-day online accreditation visit at J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) from August 25 to 29, 2025, via Zoom. The visit aimed to assess the Bachelor of Science in Forestry (BSF) program at the Main Campus for its 1st Survey Visit and the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) program at the Canuto MS Enerio Campus for its 2nd Survey Revisit – All Areas, ensuring these programs meet national quality standards and support the College’s commitment to academic excellence.

J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) achieved another significant milestone under the visionary leadership of President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales with the awarding of the Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) for its Bachelor of Industrial Technology (BIT) at the Canuto MS Enerio Campus (CMSE). The awarding took place on August 30, 2025, during the College’s 24th Founding Anniversary Culmination at Pavilion Hall, Dao, Pagadian City.

J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC), under the leadership of its visionary President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, celebrated its 24th Founding Anniversary with a month-long series of activities, culminating on August 30, 2025, at the Pavilion Hall, Dao, Pagadian City. One of the highlights of the celebration was the President’s State of the College Address (SOCA), followed by messages of encouragement from distinguished guests, including officials from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and presidents of partner State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), who inspired the JHCSC community to continue its legacy of excellence and growth.

J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales delivered the State of the College Address (SOCA) on August 30, 2025, at the Pavilion Hall, Dao, Pagadian City. As the centerpiece of the 24th Founding Anniversary, it highlighted the College’s milestones, achievements, and future direction under his visionary leadership and the collective efforts of the institution.

The J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) community celebrated the culmination of its 24th Founding Anniversary with the Employees’ Night on August 30, 2025, at Pavilion Hall in Dao, Pagadian City. Administrators, faculty, and staff from all campuses gathered for an evening of recognition, entertainment, and camaraderie.

The School of Business and Management (SBM) of J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) successfully hosted the 8th General Membership Caravan on Halal Concepts and the Filipino Brand of Service Excellence (FBSE) on August 28–29, 2025, at the JHCSC-HRM Hostel. With the theme “Advancing Halal and Filipino Brand of Service Excellence in Tourism and Hospitality: Elevating Global Standards and Opportunities,” the two-day caravan gathered educators, industry practitioners, and stakeholders from across the Zamboanga Peninsula to promote collaboration and global competitiveness in the tourism and hospitality sector.

The Office of the Vice President for Research, Extension, and Resource Generation (OVPRERG), headed by Dr. Jerry B. Superales with Prof. Ruel S. Lasagas, Research Director, and Dr. Joel M. Sabellano Jr., Extension Services Director, led its annual two-day in-house review of research and extension project proposals on August 26–27, 2025, at the New Roxan Hotel, Pagadian City. The activity aimed to ensure that proposed studies are aligned with the institution’s research agenda, priority thrusts, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with participation from faculty researchers and extensionists from the Main, Pagadian, CSME, and Dumingag campuses.
