J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC), under the leadership of its visionary President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, celebrated its 24th Founding Anniversary with a month-long series of activities, culminating on August 30, 2025, at the Pavilion Hall, Dao, Pagadian City. One of the highlights of the celebration was the President’s State of the College Address (SOCA), followed by messages of encouragement from distinguished guests, including officials from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and presidents of partner State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), who inspired the JHCSC community to continue its legacy of excellence and growth.

CHED Commissioner and JHCSC Board of Trustees Chair-Designate 𝐃𝐫. 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐨 𝐀𝐩𝐚𝐠 𝐈𝐈𝐈 praised JHCSC as “a story of resilience and transformation” and reaffirmed his support for the College’s continued growth and mission.

𝐃𝐫. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚 𝐑𝐢𝐨 𝐀𝐛𝐝𝐨𝐧 𝐍𝐚𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐭, President of Jose Rizal Memorial State University (JRMSU), commended JHCSC’s 24 years of excellence as a legacy of service and expressed confidence that it will soon become Zamboanga del Sur State University.

Cebu Technological University (CTU) President 𝐃𝐫. 𝐉𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐩𝐡 𝐂. 𝐏𝐞𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐨 congratulated JHCSC on its achievements despite limited resources. He added, “With your support, I’m confident that in the next few months, this State College will become a university.”

Representing CHED Regional Office IX, OIC-Chief Education Program Specialist 𝐃𝐫. 𝐉𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐩𝐡 𝐋𝐨𝐮 𝐂. 𝐒𝐭𝐚. 𝐓𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐚 conveyed the greetings of the Regional Director, Atty. Marco Cicero F. Domingo. He praised JHCSC for “carrying the torch and lighting the path for the community” and highlighted that its strength lies in its people, united by passion, resilience, and commitment.

The honored guests from CHED and partner SUCs collectively commended Dr. Rosales’ visionary leadership and congratulated the JHCSC community on its remarkable achievements, encouraging everyone to carry the torch of education with pride and commitment to a brighter future for Mindanao and the nation.

JHCSC honored its distinguished guests with plaques and tokens, emphasizing that their presence reinforced the community’s commitment to carrying the torch of education toward a brighter future.
