Music, faith, and solidarity came together on December 11, 2025, as the J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) Main Campus Gymnasium hosted a Concert for a Cause in support of two parish communities. With the theme โ€œChristmas in Our Hearts,โ€ the benefit concert was initiated by Dr. Jeremias Navarro Perez with the support of President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales. All proceeds from the event were dedicated to the missions and projects of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish โ€“ San Miguel and Our Mother of Perpetual Help Parish โ€“ Guipos.

The concert showcased a meaningful collaboration among clergy, artists, and members of the academic community. Performing on stage were the Augustinian Friarsโ€”Fr. Vic Amplayo, Fr. Leonard Realiza, and Fr. Harvey Solatarioโ€”together with Mr. Jowie Consolacion, Mr. Arnold Vismanos, and the Talents of Guipos. Their performances reflected a blend of spirituality and artistry, reinforcing the concertโ€™s message of compassion and service.

In her welcome address, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Vilma C. Grengia thanked everyone who contributed to the success of the event and formally welcomed the audience to an evening dedicated to a noble cause. She highlighted the importance of unity and shared responsibility in extending help beyond the campus. Also present were college officials and heads, including Vice President for Research, Extension, and Resource Generation Dr. Jerry B. Superales, Main Campus Director Dr. Trinidad A. Abapo, office heads, faculty members, and staff, who showed their support for the initiative.

The program featured a wide range of performances that showcased talent and creativity. Fr. Vic Amplayo presented original songs, highlighted by his award-winning composition โ€œServants of the Lord.โ€ The JHCSC Chorale, The Buswak Dance Troupe under the direction of Mr. Joseph Salimbangon, Stronger and Bolder Band, Kalilintad, and The Dramatists delivered performances that celebrated faith, culture, and artistic expression. President Rosales also graced the stage, sharing his musical talent and offering heartfelt messages in between songs.

The Concert for a Cause concluded with a strong sense of purpose and reflection, emphasizing the true meaning of Christmas through acts of giving and service. Beyond music and performances, the event stood as a testament to JHCSCโ€™s commitment to community engagement, faith-driven initiatives, and the power of collective action for the greater good.

Soar high, J.H. Cerilles State College!
