The Records and Archives Office (RAO) of JHCSC, led by Mrs. Mae Desiree L. Luste, continued its Basic Records Management Orientation at the Dumingag Campus in Caridad, Zamboanga del Sur, on November 13, 2024. This session followed earlier ones held at the Main Campus and Pagadian Extension Campus on October 21, 2024. Ms. Jovey P. Medina, a faculty member from the School of Arts and Sciences and former Records Officer at RAO, served as the guest speaker.

The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Region IX, led by Regional Director Dr. Rody P. Garcia, together with Dr. Joseph Lou C. Sta. Teresa, OIC-Chief Education Program Specialist, and the Regional Quality Assessment (RQAT) Team, headed by Dr. Ma. Grace F. Gurdiel, Dean of the College of Nursing and School of Midwifery at the DMC – College Foundation, visited the JHCSC School of Nursing (SON) for a program evaluation on November 12, 2024, at the JHCSC Pagadian Extension Campus.

On November 13, 2024, Syntegral Global Solutions (SGS) held an orientation seminar and MOA consultation at the JHCSC Pagadian Extension Campus Hostel. Led by Mr. Bryan K. Thomas, CEO of SGS, to collaborate with J.H. Cerilles State College under the leadership of President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales. The event aimed to foster collaboration between government agencies, universities, and private partners to develop sustainable agricultural solutions for communities in Zamboanga del Sur.

The Planning and Development Office (PDO) of J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) held its final session on the Land Use Development and Infrastructure Plan (LUDIP) for the years 2027-2032 on November 12, 2024, at the Caridad, JHCSC Dumingag Campus Quality Assurance Office. The session focused on the prioritization of key projects under the plan, followed by a land inspection at the Dapiwak area within the Dumingag Campus. The session was led by Dr. Cleofe A. Baterna, Jr., PDO Director, with For. Larnie L. Galiste, LUDIP Focal Person, facilitated the discussions.

The highly anticipated 𝑴𝑨𝑺𝑻𝑺 𝑭𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒑 𝑮𝒂𝒎𝒆𝒔 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒 is almost here! Set to occur from November 24-29 in the scenic province of Zamboanga del Sur, 𝑱.𝑯. 𝑪𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒔 𝑺𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝑪𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒈𝒆 will proudly host this exciting event. Over 10,000 students and coaches from more than 30 State Universities and Colleges across Mindanao will come together to celebrate sports, culture, and unity.

Reaffirming its dedication to academic quality, JHCSC sent a group of representatives led by College President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales to attend the AACCUP National Conference, Bayanihan 2024, at Cavite State University from November 6 to 8, 2024. The conference, which adopted the theme “Moving Together Toward Accreditation 4.0 to Advance Quality Assurance in the Digital Age,” focused on innovative accreditation practices relevant to the digital age.

Under the visionary leadership of President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, the Information and Public Affairs Office (IPAO) has officially relaunched “The JHCSC Gazette,” the official newsletter publication of the institution, during the Flag Raising Ceremony held today, November 11, 2024, at the Maceda Ground, JHCSC Main Campus in Mati, San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur. The event was graced by the presence of key officials, including Dr. Vilma C. Grengia, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Mr. Wilfredo Barnido, Jr., Vice President for Administration and Finance, along with faculty, staff and student.

The School of Agriculture, Forestry, and Environmental Studies (SAFES), under the leadership of Dean Dr. Jerry B. Superales, Vice President for Research, Extension, and Resource Generation, celebrated its two-day SAFES Day 2024 on November 7-8 at JHCSC Dapiwak, Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur. The event carried the theme, “Advancing Agriculture for a Sustainable Future: Merging Innovation with Environmental Responsibility 2024.”

The Planning and Development Office (PDO) of J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) convened a meeting on November 11, 2024, to discuss the update and prioritization of the institution’s Land Use Development and Infrastructure Plan (LUDIP) for the 2027-2032 period, held at the Office of the President’s Board Room on the main campus, the session focused on strategic planning and the future direction of infrastructure projects, led by the PDO, Dr. Cleofe A. Baterna Jr., Planning Director, and facilitated by For. Larnie Galiste, the LUDIP Focal Person, under the leadership of JHCSC President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, who provided valuable insights and guidance throughout the session.

The School of Law (SOL), led by Dean Atty. Romylyn O. Regidor proudly hosted an acquaintance party on November 9, 2024, at Pavilion Hall, Dao, Pagadian City. Organized by the School of Law Student Council (SSC) officers led by the outgoing SSC President, Ms. Estella Marie N. Calib, the event embraced the theme “Cohesiveness in Diversity: Embracing Greatness Through Embodying the Culture of Perseverance and Camaraderie.”
