The Vice President for Administration and Finance (VPAF), Mr. Wilfredo M. Barnido, Jr., CPA, MBA, with the support of President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, conducted a week-long Manual Workshop from October 6 to 9, 2025, aimed at developing a comprehensive operations manual that will serve as the institution’s guide for administrative and financial processes. The activity began with a briefing session at the Main Campus on October 6, followed by the workshop proper from October 7 to 8 at the IT Building Conference Room, Pagadian Campus, and concluded on October 9 with a simulation of finance transactions at the JHCSC HRM-Hostel.

The JHCSC Board of Trustees (BOT) convened for its 3rd Quarter Regular Meeting on October 2, 2025, at Cotabato State University to deliberate on important institutional matters. Of the thirty-eight (38) Board Resolutions deliberated and acted upon during the quarter, only one (1) was deferred. The meeting was presided over by CHED Commissioner Hon. Dr. Desiderio R. Apag III, Chairperson of the JHCSC-BOT, with College President and Vice Chairperson Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales also present.

The J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) was recognized as the Top School Partner in Mindanao Area by the Astoria Culinary and Hospitality Institute (ACHI) and received the 4-Year Loyalty Award during the Recognition of Partner Schools held at Chardonnay Hall, Astoria, Pasig City, on October 4, 2025. Representing the institution, Dr. Julito V. Mandac, Jr., Dean of the School of Business and Management (SBM), accepted the awards on behalf of JHCSC.

The Finance Committee of J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) held its Third Quarter Regular Meeting on September 29, 2025, at the IT Building Conference Room of the Pagadian Campus. The session was presided over by Dir. Maria Felicidad R. Guerrero, Regional Director of the National Economic and Development Authority Region IX (NEDA IX), and gathered college officials, trustees, staff, and student representatives to tackle fiscal, procurement, and administrative matters.

>The J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) conducted an earthquake drill on September 30, 2025, to enhance disaster preparedness and ensure campus-wide safety. The morning exercise was held at the Main Campus, with simultaneous sessions conducted at the Dumingag Campus, followed by another drill in the afternoon at the Pagadian Campus. The activity was spearheaded by Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO) Director Mr. Jerry R. Redoblado and his team, with the support of Main Campus Director Dr. Trinidad C. Abapo, Dumingag Campus Director Dr. Moises Glenn Tangalin, and Pagadian Campus OIC-Director, Atty. Romylyn O. Regidor.

The School of Nursing (SON) of J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC), led by Dean Prof. Marjo Malabanan, held its 16th Cap and Badge Investiture and Candle-Lighting Ceremony on September 28, 2025, at the Pavilion Hall, Provincial Center, Dao. This milestone formally marks the official transition of 148 Batch Exorian student nurses from classroom learning to clinical practice.

J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC), through its Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO), conducted a three-day training for Student Volunteers from September 25 to 27, 2025, at the Main Campus College Gymnasium. The initiative, led by Director Mr. Jerry R. Redoblado, aimed to equip students with the essential skills necessary for disaster preparedness, response, and recovery.

Demonstrating a strong commitment to scholarly work, seven faculty members of the J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) School of Teacher Education (STE) presented their research papers at the State Universities and Colleges Teachers Educators’ Association (SUCTEA) Inc. National Conference. The event was held on September 22–24, 2025, at Diversion 21 Hotel, Iloilo City, with the theme “Future-Proofing Teacher Education in the 21st Century.”

JHCSC joined the global community in celebrating World Tourism Day 2025 with the theme “Tourism and Sustainable Transformation” on September 29, 2025, at the JHCSC Pagadian City Extension Campus Grounds. The celebration was spearheaded by the Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management (BSTM) students under the leadership of their program chair, Mr. Julie R. Cabalog, with the support of the Dean of the School of Business and Management (SBM), Dr. Julito V. Mandac, Jr.
