Cerilles State College (JHCSC) hosted a negotiation meeting with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to explore a potential collaboration under the Shared Service Facilities (SSF) program on June 3, 2025, at the JHCSC Conference room, IT building. The JHCSC President, Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, led the meeting alongside DTI Provincial Director Mr. Marlon A. Alabata.
J.H. Cerilles State College Main Campus held an Ecumenical Service, Distribution of Diplomas and Transcript of Records (TORs), and Recognition of Non-Academic and Proficiency Awardees on June 5, 2025, at the College Gymnasium in Mati, San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur. This significant event brought together the graduating Class of 2025, their proud parents, distinguished guests, key college officials, deans, as well as program chairs, faculty, and staff from the Main Campus.
The graduating class of 2025 at the Pagadian City Extension Campus of J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC), together with their proud parents, gathered for a series of meaningful ceremonies held on June 4, 2025, at the Zamboanga del Sur National High School (ZSNHS) Gymnasium in Sta. Maria, Pagadian City. These included the Ecumenical Prayer, which served as a spiritual send-off for the graduates; the hooding ceremony for the graduating students of the School of Law (SOL) and the School of Graduate Studies (SGS); and the recognition of non-academic awardees.
The School of Engineering and Technology (SET), under the leadership of Dean Engr. Perla A. Rivera held a Hard Hat Installation and Pinning Ceremony on May 28, 2025, at the College Gymnasium in Mati, San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur. The ceremony was intended for the 3rd-year Engineering students who will undergo their OJT internship: 28 from the Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) program and 14 pioneering students from the Bachelor of Science in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (BSABE) program, joined by their proud parents.
The School of Law (SOL), led by Dean Atty. Romylyn O. Regidor, held a Seniors’ Night and Tribute to Parents on June 4, 2025, at the Pavilion Hall, Dao, Pagadian City. Organized by graduating SOL students, the event celebrated a remarkable milestone and the culmination of their years of hard work.
In a landmark move for higher education in Zamboanga del Sur, the Senate officially approved the third and final reading of 𝐇𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐁𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐍𝐨. 𝟗𝟑𝟏𝟓 on 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝟑, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓, with 𝟐𝟏 𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐯𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐬, 𝐳𝐞𝐫𝐨 𝐧𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐯𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐧𝐨 𝐚𝐛𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬. The bill paves the way for the conversion of 𝐉.𝐇. 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 (𝐉𝐇𝐂𝐒𝐂) in Barangay Mati, Municipality of San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur, into a full-fledged state university to be known as 𝐙𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐨𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚 𝐝𝐞𝐥 𝐒𝐮𝐫 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 (𝐙𝐃𝐒𝐒𝐔).
The School of Arts and Sciences (SAS) of Jose Rizal Memorial State University, under the leadership of Dean Benjamin B. Mangila, held a heartfelt Tribute to Parents and Recognition Day on June 2, 2025, at the JHCSC Main Campus Gymnasium. The program carried the theme, “A Tribute of Gratitude: Honoring the Pillars Behind our Pursuits,” which set the tone for a celebration that recognized the unwavering support of parents and the academic achievements of students.
The School of Graduate Studies (SGS) of J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC), under the leadership of Dean Dr. Patricia D. Bahian, held its Annual Research Colloquium on May 31, 2025, at the BSIT Building Conference Room, Pagadian City Extension Campus. The event brought together internal and external panel evaluators, college key officials, as well as SGS presenters, students, faculty members, and assigned staff. It encouraged interdisciplinary collaboration and promoted a culture of research excellence and innovation within the institution.
The School of Nursing (SON) of J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) celebrated the 15th Pinning Ceremony of Batch Soteria on May 31, 2025, at the Pavilion Hall, Provincial Center. With the theme “Embracing Excellence: Empowering Compassionate and Competent Nurses,” the event was spearheaded by SON Dean, Prof. Marjo S. Malabanan, MN, with the support of JHCSC President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales. The ceremony served as a symbolic transition of the graduating students from the academic setting to the professional field of nursing.
The School of Criminal Justice Education (SOCJE) of J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) held its Culmination Rites and Tribute to Parents on May 30, 2025, at Khians Spring Garden Resort, Bertinan, San Miguel. Bearing the theme “Hard Work and Perseverance: A Formula for Success,” the event was spearheaded by Program Chair Clydelyn A. Lantig, MSCJ, under the leadership of SOCJE Dean Dr. Mark E. Patalinghug. The ceremony aimed to honor the accomplishments of graduating interns and express appreciation to their families for their unwavering support.
