The Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) Faculty conducted a meeting to revise the BSIT curriculum, held at the School of Graduate Studies Library and Conference Room, 3rd Floor, IT Building on February 27-28, 2025. The meeting was facilitated by the BSIT-Pagadian Program Chair, Elsie S. Ybañez, MSIT, under the leadership of the School of Engineering and Technology (SET) Dean Perla A. Rivera, MSCE. The event aimed to address crucial updates and ensure the BSIT curriculum is up-to-date with the latest educational and industry standards.
Among the key attendees of the meeting was BSIT-Main Program Chair Maribel M. Estioco, MST-CS. In addition, the meeting was attended by a select group of BSIT faculty members and other relevant staff to collaborate on the curriculum revision. The participation of these faculty members and staff was crucial to gathering diverse insights and ensuring that all perspectives were considered in revising the curriculum to meet both academic and industry expectations.
The faculty meeting focused on urgently revising the BSIT curriculum, prompted by a recent Commission on Higher Education (CHED) evaluation. CHED recommended immediate updates to align the curriculum with current educational trends and industry needs. The meeting was a key step in responding to these recommendations to better prepare students for the IT industry’s demands.
