JHCSC Launches Teachers’ Month Celebration 2024

J.H. Cerilles State College officially marked the opening of National Teachers’ Month today, September 9, 2024, at the Main Campus Gymnasium in Mati, San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur, facilitated by the School of Teacher Education (STE), spearheaded by Dr. Starr Clyde L. Sebial.
This year’s event emphasized the 4As of Gratitude – Appreciation, Approval, Admiration, Attention, held under the theme “Together4Teachers” in line with Presidential Proclamation 242, Series of 2011, which designates September 5 to October 5 each year as National Teachers’ Month.
Dr. Vilma C. Grengia, Vice President for Academic Affairs, delivered a speech emphasizing teachers’ vital role in shaping students’ lives. In her message, she celebrated the achievements and contributions of educators, noting that their dedication and hard work deserve recognition, and highlighted that the month-long celebration is a tribute to teachers’ invaluable impact on the academic community.
A video presentation was featured during the program, highlighting the dedication and efforts of teachers. The presentation showcased various classroom moments and school activities, emphasizing educators’ pivotal role in shaping students’ academic and personal growth. Testimonials from students and faculty expressed deep appreciation for teachers’ tireless commitment to nurturing young minds and fostering a love for learning. The video served as a tribute to teachers’ lasting impact on the school community, recognizing their contributions to education and invaluable influence on students’ lives.

President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales gave an inspirational message during the opening ceremony. In his address, he praised the teachers’ unwavering dedication and hard work, emphasizing their significant role in shaping students’ futures. Dr. Rosales highlighted that teachers serve as role models both in and out of the classroom and are often considered second parents to their students and highlighted the profound impact that educators have on both academic and personal growth, encouraging continued commitment and passion in their profession.
This month-long celebration will feature diverse activities and contests to honor and recognize the teaching force of JHCSC. These activities will showcase their talents and skills, crafted to foster appreciation and collaboration within the academic community.
