College officials of J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC), led by President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, paid a courtesy visit to Zamboanga del Sur Governor Divina Grace C. Yu on August 11, 2025, at the Provincial Capitol to discuss strengthened collaboration between the institution and the provincial government.

The visit aimed to extend a formal invitation to Governor Yu for KAPEHAN, an upcoming institutional dialogue designed to foster partnerships between the academe and the community. The event will present programs and research-based projects intended to generate income, create livelihood opportunities, and drive local development.

Key topics discussed included prospective scholarship grants for JHCSC students and the promotion of a newly developed mobile application comparable to commercial food delivery platforms. Unlike existing services, the app will feature agriculture-based offerings and dishes made from locally produced ZamPen Chicken, to stimulate innovation and employment.

Governor Yu also shared her ongoing and planned projects for JHCSC, which could significantly contribute to the institutionโ€™s aspirations for university status. The meeting concluded with both parties reaffirming their commitment to advancing education, innovation, and socio-economic growth in Zamboanga del Sur.

Soar high, J.H. Cerilles State College!
