JHCSC STE Organized Insightful Orientation for Pre-Service Teachers and Parents

In dedication to upholding academic excellence, the J.H. Cerilles State College School of Teacher Education (STE), spearheaded by Dean Dr. Starr Clyde L. Sebial, recently organized an orientation for pre-service teachers and their parents at the JHCSC Main Campus Gymnasium on March 25, 2024.
The orientation aimed to equip pre-service teachers (3rd-year students) with invaluable insights for their field study deployment while engaging pre-service teachers (interns) with their parents in discussions regarding the significance of the JHCSC STE proposal for its first-ever history of in-house review collaboration with a distinguished private sector review center, Catalyst Pro in preparing them in passing for the Board Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (BLEPT).
The event welcomed distinguished guests from the Catalyst Pro Review Center, Prof. Ken Saluta, Director, and his assistant director, Mr. Niel Roda. Prof. Saluta emphasized the importance of thorough review before taking the BLEPT, urging students to invest their time, effort, and resources to secure their lifetime licenses. He also inspired parents to extend their unwavering support to their children’s educational pursuits.
Dean Sebial elaborated on the significance of partnering with private sector experts, such as Catalyst Pro Tutorial and Review Center, in addition to the existing expertise within JHCSC. This collaboration ensures a high percentage of JHCSC BLEPT passers, further solidifying the institution’s commitment to academic excellence.
The orientation successfully ended with the parent’s approval for the partnership with Catalyst Pro Tutorial and Review Center. The next step involves the meticulous review and subsequent signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with JHCSC President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales and Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Vilma C. Grengia.
