JHCSC School of Teacher Education Partners with DepED Pagadian City Division for Off-Campus Student Training

A significant event took place at the JHCSC Pagadian Annex, marking the “Pinning of the Pre-service Teachers and Orientation” for the Class of 2023-2024 from JH Cerilles State College’s School of Teacher Education (STE). Dean Dr. Starr Clyde L. Sebial led this event, held in collaboration with the Department of Education (DepEd) Division Pagadian City, under the leadership of Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Felix Romy A. Triambulo. The venue was the Third-Floor Conference Room in the I.T Building at JHCSC Pagadian Annex on October 16, 2023.

According to VPAA Dr. Vilma C Grengia, the event was crucial for preparing and orienting the pre-service teachers, specifically 80 student-interns, comprising 39 BSED English and 41 BSED Filipino students, for their upcoming off-campus training. It marked the commencement of the new academic year for the Class of 2023-2024, signifying the beginning of their journey towards becoming educators.

During the event, JHCSC President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales emphasized that the collaboration with DepEd Pagadian City Division demonstrates a robust partnership between the academic institution and the local education authority. This partnership ensures that the training and education of these pre-service teachers align with the needs and standards of the local education system.

The supervision of the student-interns during their off-campus training falls under the purview of the Curriculum Implementation Division (CID), led by Dr. Emie T. Aruelo, the Public Schools District Supervisor Focal Person for Pre-Service Teachers. Additionally, Maria Disoa Z. Peralta, Chief of the Curriculum Implementation Division, and several Education Program Supervisors, including Dr. Jusere Ann C. Basaya (English), Dr. Domingo O. Ompoco (Filipino), Serapion P. Cabatingan (ArPan), Dr. James E. Marquez (EPP/TLE), Dr. Chynthia Rose A. Cartojano (Kindergarten), Dexter Jones D. Fiel (Science), Salem T. Uyag (Mathematics), and Huebert E. Patriarca (MAPEH) were designated for this role.

The partnership between JHCSC and DepED was formalized through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA), cementing their commitment to collaboration and shared objectives.
