J.H. Cerilles State College joins SUC Fair 2022

Bearing the theme, “Promoting Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Culture, and Arts for National Development and Global Competitiveness,” and the tagline, “WeAreSUC: Sustained Excellence, Unified Efforts, Competitive Standards,” J.H. Cerilles State College key officials led by President Dr. Mary Jocelyn Villejo-Battung joined SUC Fair 2022 which highlighted excellence and innovation at the SM MOA Music Hall from June 28 to July 01, 2022.

The CHED-initiated fair was hosted this year by the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges-National Capital Region and the Philippine Normal University in partnership with the private National University.

A total of 81 public and private institutions participated in the fair, the second to be held and the first following the enactment in 2021 of Republic Act 11522 commemorating a National Higher Education Day every year, which SUC Fair 2022 celebrated together with the anniversary of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).

The 4-day event has served as a venue for SUCs to showcased their regional products, industries, and technology best practices through the week-long bazaar, plenary talks, photo contests, and cultural presentations.

Dr. Bert J. Tuga, PNU President, and PASUC-NCR Chairperson kickstarted the opening program along with Hon. Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez, Majority Leader and Incoming Speaker, House of Representatives; Dr. J. Prospero “Popoy” E. De Vera III, Chairperson, Commission on Higher Education; Dr. Tirso A. Ronquillo, Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) President; and Dr. Renato Carlos H. Ermita, Jr., National University President, represented by Prof. Rolando Averilla, Vice President for Corporate Affairs.

The Plenary Talks on Entrepreneurship and Product Innovation on the first and second day of the fair were discussed by the Speakers Dr. Carl E. Balita, Chairman of the CEB Group of Companies, and Dr. Napoleon K. Juanillo Jr., Assistant Secretary of the Department of Trade and Industry.

JHCSC BUSWAK Dance Ensemble coached by Culture adn Arts in charge Mr. Joseph Salimbangon also showcased their talents during the opening program thru an amazing cultural dance performance together with the SUCs dance performers from regions 9 and 10 in Mindanao.

Likewise, the Dried Porang fresh water fish, a product of JHCSC Lakewood Campus was also showcased as one of the regional products of SUCs in Region 9.

JHCSC Officials headed by Dr. Mary Jocelyn Villejo-Battung, College President visited and supported the SUC Fair together with VP for Academic Affairs, Dr. Lina T. Codilla, VP for Research, Extension and Resource Generation, Dr. Jerry B. Superales and other college key officials.

Also present during the event were other presidents, officials, faculty members, administrative staff, and students of the participating SUCs.
