J.H. Cerilles State College led by President Mary Jocelyn Villejo Battung successfully celebrated its 21st founding anniversary on August 11, 2022 at the College Gymnasium, Main Campus, Mati, Zambonga del Sur.
The celebration kicked-off through a motorcade that started at JHCSC Pagadian Annex, Pagadian City. The JHCSC delegation roamed around the city and then proceeded to Dumalinao, Guipos and to the Main Campus in Mati, San Miguel which were participated by the employees from the Main, Dumingag and Lakewood campuses.
The young Representative of the 2nd Congressional District of Zamboanga del Sur and new member of the JHCSC Board of Trustees representing the House of Representatives Congresswoman Jeyzel Victoria C. Yu graced the event as the invited Guest Speaker. As well as DA- BAR Director Dr. Junel B. Soriano as the founding day Keynote Speaker.
The following JHCSC’s partner agencies were given recognitions in helping the institution fulfilled its mandate to serve the communities and stakeholders especially in the trying times of pandemic; LGU San Miguel, DA-BAR, DA-BSMW, DA-R9, CHED-R9, TESDA-R9, DOST-R9, DEPED-ZDS, DTI-ZDS, 53RD IB-1ID, ATI-R9, DILG-ZDS, DOLE-ZDS, DSWD-ZDS and TESDA-ZDS.
As one of the highlights of the event, TESDA Zamboanga del Sur -JHCSC Community Extension Services Office student-recipients for the Bread Making Training leading to BPP NC II received complete set of individual starter kits for bread and pastry making from TESDA.
Loyalty and recognition awards were also given to the institution’s employees who have productively rendered 10- 40 years in service and to those faculty and staff who had finished their Master and Doctorate degrees recently.
After the formal program, a sumptuous buddle fight lunch was prepared that were enjoyed by the participants and visitors.
In addition, a ground breaking ceremony and laying of capsule for the construction of the College Infirmary led by the College Nurse Dr. Joanne Happy C. Hadjirul was successfully conducted and participated by the members of the BOT, college key officials, faculty and staff.
In her message, President Battung thanked all the members of the founding anniversary working committees that made the event a success. Also, to the invited guests, partner agencies and visitors who made the said occasion a memorable one.
