The J.H. Cerilles State College School of Nursing (JHCSC-SON), led by Dean Prof. Marjo Malabanan, conducted a Strategic Planning Workshop on Outcome-Based Education (OBE) Framework and Authentic Assessment in Nursing Education on September 27, 2025, at the Pagadian Campus IT Building Conference Room. The event brought together the SON faculty to strengthen curriculum and instructional practices.

During the workshop, Dean Prof. Malabanan provided a comprehensive review of the college’s philosophy, vision, mission, goals, and objectives related to nursing education. He also presented the results of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program Accreditation and Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) prior assessments, along with recommendations and their implications for curriculum development and instructional improvement.

Dr. Laurence L. Garcia, Professor VI at Cebu Normal University, was the guest lecturer. He discussed the JC3 (CHED Policies, Standards, and Guidelines). He also provided an in-depth review of the OBE Framework and Authentic Assessment in Nursing Education, highlighting strategies to enhance learning outcomes and student performance.

The workshop aimed to equip faculty members with updated knowledge and tools to ensure high-quality, outcome-based nursing education that aligns with national standards and best practices.
