On August 6, 2025, the JHCSC community, under the leadership of President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, gathered at the Main Campus Gymnasium to officially welcome new and returning students for the opening of classes for the academic year 2025-2026. The event also served as the launch of the Buwan ng Wika, with the theme “Paglinang sa Filipino at Katutubong Wika; Makasaysayan sa Pagkakaisa ng Bansa.”
Attendees celebrated Filipino culture and heritage by wearing Filipiniana attire and Barong Tagalog, creating a festive atmosphere that marked the beginning of both the academic year and the national language celebration. The gathering reflected JHCSCβs commitment to fostering a deeper appreciation for the Filipino language and cultural unity.
Ms. Venus M. Avenido, Dean of the Student Affairs and Services, delivered a heartfelt welcome address to the students, setting the tone for an exciting and enriching academic year ahead. President Rosales, bringing even more excitement to the event, also took the stage to greet the students with a lively musical performance.
Atty. Esther Marie S. Ringon, Board of Trustees Secretary, introduced the key college officials, starting with Dr. Vilma C. Grengia, who presented the offices under the Vice President for Academic Affairs. Dr. Jerry B. Superales followed with the introduction of the offices under the Vice President for Research, Extension, and Resource Generation. Mr. Wilfredo M. Barnido Jr. concluded the introductions by outlining the offices under the Vice President for Administration and Finance.
The event wrapped up with an engaging trivia game, designed to educate attendees on various aspects of Filipino history and culture, in connection with the Buwan ng Wika celebration.
The occasion not only marked the start of the academic year but also reaffirmed JHCSCβs dedication to pursuing quality tertiary education. With a renewed sense of purpose and direction, the JHCSC community remains committed to empowering students, striving to be stronger and bolder in shaping a future of academic excellence and cultural pride.
