The School of Agriculture, Forestry and Environmental Studies (SAFES), under the leadership of Dr. Jerry B. Superales, SAFES Dean and Vice President for Research, Extension, and Resource Generation (VPRERG), hosted a heartfelt tribute to parents and ring hop ceremony on June 7, 2025, at the Mega Gym, Provincial Sports Complex, Dao, Pagadian City.
With the theme, “A Lifetime of Sacrifice, A Future of Promise,” the event brought together key academic leaders, including Dr. Moises Glenn G. Tangalin, Dumingag Campus Director, along with program chairs, faculty members, staff, and proud parents. Participating in the ceremony were graduands from the Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (BSA) programs of both the Main and Dumingag campuses, as well as from the Bachelor of Science in Forestry (BSF) and Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science (BSES) programs.
Dr. Aladin P. Repaso, a distinguished alumnus of JHCSC, served as a guest speaker and delivered a message that resonated deeply with the audience. He paid tribute to the enduring dedication and sacrifices of the parents, acknowledging their critical role in shaping the future of the graduates. Dr. Repaso also urged the students to honor their parents’ efforts by pursuing their dreams with purpose, integrity, and commitment to service, especially in fields that contribute to environmental sustainability and rural development.
A highlight of the event was the emotional gesture of appreciation as the graduates presented tokens of gratitude to their parents and mentors, symbolizing their heartfelt recognition of the unwavering support they received throughout their academic journey. This was followed by the ring hop ceremony, a symbolic rite of passage marking the students’ transition from college life to the professional world, further emphasizing the values of responsibility, hope, and promise that the occasion celebrated.
