J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC) – School of Teacher Education (STE) paid homage to the unwavering support and sacrifices of parents during its “Tribute to Parents and Recognition Rites” for the Class of 2025, held on June 9, 2025, at the college gymnasium. With the theme “Roots of our Dreams, Pillars of our Journey: A Tribute to our Beloved Parents,” the ceremony celebrated the vital role of parents in shaping the future educators of the nation.

The event was spearheaded by STE Dean Dr. Starr Clyde L. Sebial, who delivered an inspiring message to the graduates. Quoting, “It is okay not to have it all figured out,” Dr. Sebial reminded students that uncertainty is part of the journey and growth. He reflected on his path in the teaching profession, expressing gratitude to the faculty for their dedication, and echoed Steve Jobs’ words: “You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards.” He urged students to trust the process, embrace challenges, and have faith that their efforts will lead them to where they truly belong.

The ceremony was marked by emotional performances from the students, including heartfelt songs and lively dances, as expressions of gratitude for their parents’ tireless efforts. Both faculty and parents watched proudly as the graduates honored the sacrifices that helped them reach this milestone in their academic journey.

The event concluded with a resounding applause and emotional embraces, symbolizing not only the culmination of years of hard work but also the beginning of a new chapter. The STE community stood united in celebrating not just academic achievement but the profound bond between parents and children that fuels every learner’s success.

Soar high, J.H. Cerilles State College!
