The Commission on Higher Education Regional Office (CHEDRO) and the Office of Programs and Standards Development (OPSD), in collaboration with the CHED Technical Evaluator for Nursing and the Regional Quality Assurance Team, conducted an evaluation visit for the Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) application of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program under the School of Nursing (SON) of J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC). The activity took place on May 22, 2025, in the Conference Room, 3rd Floor, SET Building, Pagadian City Extension Campus.

Dr. Joseph Lou C. Sta. Teresa, Officer-in-Charge of the Office of the Chief Education Program Specialist at CHED Regional Office IX, led the visit on behalf of CHED IX Regional Director Atty. Marco Cicero F. Domingo. He was joined by OPSD Representative Mr. John Paul D. Dela Cruz and members of the CHED Technical Panel for Nursing, Dr. Laurence L. Garcia and Dr. Erlinda C. Palaganas.

Also present were JHCSC President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, Vice President for Administration and Finance Mr. Wilfredo M. Barnido, Jr., Pagadian Campus Director Dr. Patricia D. Bahian, Dean of the School of Nursing Prof. Marjo S. Malabanan, as well as personnel from the Office of Student Affairs, and faculty and staff of the School of Nursing.
The evaluators subsequently provided their recommendations and constructive feedback to further enhance the quality and regulatory compliance of the program in alignment with national standards and recognized best practices in higher education.

In his message, President Rosales extended his gratitude to CHEDRO, OPSD, and the evaluators for their commitment to guiding the institution toward academic excellence. He also expressed appreciation to Atty. Domingo for his steadfast support in JHCSC’s continued pursuit of universityhood, emphasizing the college’s dedication to providing quality nursing education and producing competent healthcare professionals.
