Six faculty members from the School of Teacher Education (STE) of J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC), including Dr. Starr Clyde L. Sebial, STE Dean; Jezreel V. Verallo, Program Chair of BSED English; Dr. Ferlor Angel G. Rodriguez, BSED Science Faculty; and BEED faculty members Geraldine E. Rivera, Ruby G. Redoblado, and Juvie B. Sebial, successfully presented their research during the 2nd International Conference on Multicultural Education and Interdisciplinary Studies (ICMEIS) 2025. The conference, hosted by the Philippine Normal University Mindanao, was held at the Almont Hotel in Butuan City from April 23 to 25, 2025.
The three-day conference, themed “Bridging Cultures & Fostering Interdisciplinary Learning,” brought together esteemed researchers, educators, and academic leaders from the Philippines and other parts of the world for meaningful dialogue, collaboration, and knowledge exchange centered on advancing multicultural education and interdisciplinary perspectives.
The JHCSC delegation attended the conference to contribute to international academic discourse by presenting original research papers highlighting innovative practices in multicultural and interdisciplinary education. Their attendance also sought to strengthen academic networks, promote collaborative partnerships, and gain valuable insights into global best practices that can enrich their teaching strategies and curriculum development.
During the conference’s parallel sessions, the research presentations given by all six JHCSC-STE faculty delegates contributed to the diversity and richness of the proceedings while showcasing the college’s commitment to academic excellence, research innovation, and multicultural education. Their works are now part of the official Book of Abstracts and Conference Proceedings.
The STE faculty delegates also engaged in productive discussions and networking activities that fostered connections for future collaborations and promoted JHCSC’s commitment to inclusive, transformative, and globally relevant education, aside from their research presentation at the conference. The knowledge and insights they gained will enrich the college’s educational practices, research initiatives, and collaborative efforts.
JHCSC, under the leadership of President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, continues to make strides toward global academic excellence through the active participation of its faculty in international conferences like the 2nd ICMEIS to enhance their professional growth by exposing them to emerging global trends and strengthening JHCSC’s visibility within the international academic community.
Soar high, J.H. Cerilles State College!
