JH Cerilles State College (JHCSC), the host SUC during the MASTS Friendship Games 2024, made its mark, earning 10th place in socio-cultural events and 13th place in sports. The prestigious event held in the Province of Zamboanga del Sur gathered 31 State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) from across Mindanao, celebrating unity through spirited sports competitions and cultural showcases.
In the socio-cultural events, JHCSC secured 27 points with notable achievements, including 4th runner-up finishes in Mr. MASTS and 3rd runner-up finishes in Vocal Pop Solo and In-SITU Painting. The participants also brought home bronze medals in Indigenous dance and storytelling, while their team emerged victorious with gold medals in the quiz bowl competition, underscoring their cultural and intellectual strengths.
On the sports events, the JHCSC athletes demonstrated exceptional skill and perseverance, earning an impressive haul of 43 bronze medals, 16 silver medals, and 12 gold medals across various categories. These remarkable efforts positioned the institution in 13th place in the overall sports rankings, highlighting its participantsโ resilience and competitive spirit.
The success of JHCSCโs medalists was made possible through the unwavering dedication of their coaches, who played a pivotal role in honing their skills and strategies. Their guidance and tireless support throughout the competitions contributed significantly to the collegeโs achievements and fostered a spirit of teamwork and excellence.
