The Office of the Vice President for Administration and Finance (OVPAF), under the leadership of Mr. Wilfredo Barnido, Jr., held a formal turnover ceremony on October 25, 2024, at JHCSC Lakewood Campus, marking a significant transition in leadership. Themed “A New Chapter of Leadership: Honoring the Past, Embracing the Future,” the event gathered faculty and staff to witness the official transfer of directorship. Notably, Dr. Cleofe Baterna, Jr., Planning Director, was also in attendance, delivering closing remarks.

Prof. Ricky A. Egos, who has served as both the Designated Director at Lakewood and the Director of the Community Extension Services Office (CESO), is stepping down from his role at Lakewood to focus more on enhancing CESO initiatives under the TABANGE Framework. This transition allows Prof. Bobby S. Piscos to take over the directorship, ensuring that both professors contribute their expertise toward JHCSC’s goals of achieving ISO Certification and University status.

VPAF Barnido emphasized in his message, “We are maximizing the potentials of everybody. Then, we know that Mr. Piscos has potential, so we are giving him a chance to show his capacities,” encouraging the all faculty and staff at Lakewood Campus to support Prof. Piscos’s new leadership and to let go Prof. Egos for a cause. He also expressed hope that they would continue actively participating in achieving the goals of JHCSC.

Upon accepting his new role, Prof. Piscos felt honored for the opportunity and affirmed his commitment to fostering a collaborative environment. “I promise to take care of Canuto Campus, lead with compassion, bridge divides, and create a culture where everyone feels valued and inspired,” he declared. He further stated, “Leadership is not a position; it is a practice of collaboration, support, and lifting one another,” calling for trust and partnership from the community as they embark on this shared journey toward innovation and compassion.

The ceremony marked a transition in leadership and highlighted the commitment to ensuring that key areas of responsibilities are appropriately focused. It aligns with the New Organizational Structure of JHCSC implemented by President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, where accountability and responsibility are more visible, aiming to control the output and performance of the entire institution, not to control people.
