Representatives from J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC), including Atty. Romylyn O. Regidor, Dean of the School of Law; Atty. Esther Marie S. Ringon, Legal Officer, accompanied by Mr. Denise Caesar Bongalon and Mr. Cristian Amor Baya, participated in a vital workshop on data privacy awareness and compliance conducted by Yisrael Solutions & Training Center, held from October 22 to 24, 2024, at the 49th Floor One San Miguel Building, Pasig, Metro Manila. JHCSC delegation joined representatives from various government and private institutions processing personal data across the Philippines.

The workshop focused on vital topics such as the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173), the Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR), recent guidelines issued by the National Privacy Commission (NPC), and a deep-dive understanding of legal and operational compliance to DPA. Participants also engaged in comprehensive discussions on Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA), handling complaints and breach incidents, and strategies to combat cyber security threats and attacks. This initiative is part of a broader effort to ensure that institutions like JHCSC comply with legal standards and best practices in data protection.
