To promote a sense of togetherness within the community, the JHCSC Main Campus, led by Mrs. Bemia Snooky Beboso, held an event titled “Kasugiran 2024,” on October 11, at the College Gymnasium, Mati, San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur. The Supreme Student Council, spearheaded by Mr. Earl Ryan D. Siso, organized this occasion in collaboration with the Office of Student Affairs headed by Dr. Jonno E. Tan.
Students from various schools—School of Teacher Education (STE), School of Engineering Technology (SET), School of Agriculture, Forestry and Environmental Sciences (SAFES), School of Arts and Sciences (SAS), and School of Criminal Justice Education (SoCJE)—came together to create memorable stories and experiences, highlighting the theme of collective identity.
Hon. Ex D. Ocapan, the Municipal Mayor of San Miguel, was the esteemed guest speaker at the event. Meanwhile, Hon. Cyrusdirk Elle, the JHCSC Student Trustee, expressed gratitude and encouraged students to cherish the moment and seize the opportunity to connect with a new group of individuals.
The event included the induction of the newly elected Student Supreme Council and School Organization Officers, led by Mrs. Jonah T. Salaguste, the Main Campus Guidance Counselor. These leaders were presented with Certificates of Recognition, along with School Captains, Class Officers, and members of the Supreme Student Federated Council.
Kasugiran 2024 featured a diverse range of talent presentations, including competitions such as “Your Face and Moves Sounds Familiar,” “Pop Dance,” and a “Musical Concert.” It also showcased the creativity of the attendees, who embraced the themed dress code of black, white, and gray, where several individuals were recognized for their standout looks, receiving awards like Monochromatic, Majestic Demeanor, Gaze Grabber, Kasugiran Ambassador, and Kasugiran Ambassadress.
