Dr. Rody P. Garcia, Regional Director of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) IX, visited J.H. Cerilles State College as a resource speaker on September 13, 2024, along with Engr. Joseph Lou C. Sta. Teresa, OIC-Chief Education Program Specialist (CHED-IX). The meeting, held at the JHCSC Board Room in Mati, San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur, focused on the orientation for JHCSC’s transition to university status and planning the Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) Congress.
They discussed the qualifications and processes required to transition JHCSC into a university. The discussions focused on academic standards, administrative requirements, and the necessary improvements to elevate the institution to meet university criteria. Additionally, the meeting covered the proposed plans to host a TES Congress, an event celebrating culture, identity, talents, and camaraderie. Dr. Vilma C. Grengia, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and other key stakeholders, including Heads of Offices, Campus Administrators, Deans, Program Chairs, and the Student Trustee, actively participated in the meeting.
President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales conveyed his deep enthusiasm and unwavering commitment to the transition to university status and the continuous improvements within the institution.
