The School of Teacher Education (STE) commenced the first day of its four-day enhancement seminar on September 12, 2024, at the Main Campus Gymnasium in Mati, San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur, with the theme “Navigating New Horizons: Excellence in Teaching and Learning,” which aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of the pre-service teachers.
The seminar was led by Dr. Starr Clyde L. Sebial, Dean of the School of Teacher Education, who also served as the keynote speaker, lectured about the Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) and The Second Congressional Commission on Education (EDCOM 2). The STE faculty members and the pre-service teachers from the Main Campus and Pagadian Annex were among the attendees.
Dr. Vilma C. Grengia, Vice President for Academic Affairs, delivered the welcome remarks, setting the tone for the seminar. In her speech, she highlighted the importance of preparation and professional development for pre-service teachers, stressing that they must be thoroughly equipped with theoretical and practical knowledge.
President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales delivered an inspirational message, expressing his full support for the pre-service teachers. He encouraged them to apply their skills and knowledge during their internships and wished them success in making a positive impact in their future classrooms.
