The award is the highest honor that the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) will confer in recognition of his outstanding and generous service to the Catholic Church in the Philippines, exemplifying the ideals of the first Filipino Bishop, JORGE IMPERIAL BARLIN, D.D. (1905-1909).
Fr. Sebastiano, an Italian Priest from the Pontifical Institute for Foreign Missions (PIME), founded the Silsilah Dialogue Movement and has promoted interfaith peace between Christians and Muslims in Mindanao for 40 years.
