JHCSC Dumingag I.T. Faculty designed and put up an Automated Disinfection and Sanitation System to boost protection against COVID-19

Inspired by the projects of the different Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), a group of I.T. Faculty researchers of J.H. Cerilles State College-Dumingag Campus in Zamboanga del Sur designed and put up an Automated Disinfection and Sanitation System to boost protection against COVID-19.
JHCSC Dumingag I.T. Faculty has come up with a potential technological and innovative solution to a less human contact procedure and promote social/physical distancing in every checkpoint set by the LGUs.
This is in support to the declaration of an Enhance Community Quarantine in the whole province of Zamboanga del Sur.
The easy-to-build disinfection structure is estimated to cost less than Php9,000 for its materials, mainly composed of PVC pipes, plastic cover, matting, microcontrollers, sensors and actuators. It is estimated that the structure is completed in one-and-a half days. The tents are easy to assemble and can be placed in different locations. Its main goal is to create “sanitation corridors” which local government can easily produce.
The final and working prototype facility was installed by the researchers with the assistance from the PNP, AFP, and LGU frontliners last March 28, 2020 at Barangay Guitran Checkpoint in Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur. This is a joint project between J.H. Cerilles State College and the Local Government of Dumingag.
