In line with its 24th Founding Anniversary celebration, JHCSC launched the pilot episode of KAPEHAN on August 18, 2025, at the JHCSC Hostel, Pagadian City Extension Campus. The talk show was hosted by Dr. Jeremias N. Perez in collaboration with the Information and Public Affairs Office (IPAO) and the Event Management Team Pagadian, headed by Dr. Patricia D. Bahian, Pagadian Campus Director. With the theme โ€œPagtinabangay Alang sa Malungtaron nga Kalamboan sa Edukasyon ug Serbisyo Publiko,โ€ the program was introduced to serve as a venue for institutional dialogue and stronger partnerships with local government units.

Present during the launch were key college officials and local leaders. Representing JHCSC President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales was Dr. Jerry B. Superales, Vice President for Research, Extension, and Resource Generation, together with Dr. Moises Glenn G. Tangalin, Dumingag Campus Director. The gathering also drew the participation of Hon. Divina Grace C. Yu, board members from the 1st and 2nd Districts of Zamboanga del Sur, and the mayors from JHCSCโ€™s host municipalities, including Hon. Gerry Paglinawan of Dumingag and Hon. Ex D. Ocapan of San Miguel. Their presence underscored the collaborative spirit that the event sought to promote.

Discussions during the program centered on JHCSCโ€™s research-based and extension projects that respond to the needs of communities in the province. Highlighted were the ePharian mobile application, developed to connect local farmers to broader consumer markets, and the ZamPen Native Chicken initiatives. These efforts were presented as tangible outcomes of academe-LGU collaboration that can drive inclusive socio-economic development.

Looking ahead, KAPEHAN is envisioned as a continuing series that will position JHCSC not only as an educational institution but also as an active partner in public service and local development. Launched as an initiative of President Dr. Edgardo H. Rosales, the program reinforces the collegeโ€™s commitment to aligning its research and extension services with the developmental priorities of Zamboanga del Sur.

Soar high, J.H. Cerilles State College!
