“JHCSC continues to offer free and inclusive education to all”

“JHCSC as mandated by law continues to offer free and inclusive education to all”, newly elect School President Dr. Mary Jocelyn V. Battung emphasized that pursuant to the vision of the JHCSC Administration thru R.A 9159, which is to provide quality services to the clients in addition to providing quality education.

The school also implemented the Universal Access to Quality Education Act which is the law that institutionalizes free tuition and exemption from other fees in state universities and colleges (SUCs), local universities and colleges (LUCs) in the Philippines, she added.

Battung said the law also foresees subsidies for private higher education institutions. It is intended to give underprivileged Filipino students a chance to earn a college degree. It is also known as the Republic Act 10931 that was signed by President Rodrigo Duterte last August 3, 2017.

Meanwhile, Dr. Mary Jocelyn V. Battung is the 4th President elect of J. H. Cerilles State College was formally appointed by CHED Commissioner Perfecto A. Alibin the Chairperson-Designate, JHCSC Board of Trustees last March 1, 2019 held at Davao City.

Prior to assuming the presidency early this year, she was the Vice President for Academic Affairs of J.H. Cerilles State College. As an insider of the institution she is challenge to further enhance and strengthen the institution’s vision, mission, goals, and to operate to a set framework in order to achieve the objectives particularly in affording free quality tertiary education to all stakeholders’ right at the doorsteps of every Zambosurians.

Dr. Battung is also expected to implement academic programs that will continue JHCSC’s reputation as one of the top performing schools in Region-9 and the Philippines, especially in terms of passers in Licensure and Bar exams.
